Body Found On Roof Of Vacant House Is Missing Detroit Man

Detroit Fire's Chief 4, Ladder 25 & Squad 1 assisted DPD earlier in removing a body from the roof of a dwelling on Detroit's west side. DPD Unit: "Trying to figure out how it happened"… Lesure & Midland. 2nd Precinct.

Family Finds Body Of Missing 20 Year Old

Detroit’s West Side: A body found on the roof of a vacant dwelling today is reportedly a missing 20 year old Detroit man, Drevon Johnson.

Mr Johnson had been missing since December 16th 2018.

Detroit Police were called to the vacant dwelling in the 15700 block of Lesure early in the afternoon of January 17, 2019. Mr Johnson’s family made the discovery while searching vacant houses in the neighborhood.


Lesure St On Detroit’s West Side

Mr Johnson lived on the same street his body was found on and amazingly, was found in the last place he was seen. A friend of Johnson told his family members she heard shots coming from the house Mr Johnson was in, but never investigated.

Unable to reach or remove Mr Johnson’s body, the Detroit Police Department asked the Detroit Fire Department to assist in its recovery.

Detroit Fire’s 4th Battalion Chief 4, Ladder Truck 25 and Squad 1 were dispatched and Ladder 25 used its aerial platform to remove the young man’s body from the roof.

A cause of death has not been determined and the Detroit Police are investigating.

Dispatch Audio: “Prepare For Search And Rescue, We Have Occupants In The Dwelling”

Detroit & Highland Park Fire Rescue 3

Detroit Fire’s 8th Battalion & Highland Park Fire battled a blaze on the 20400 block of Coventry St in Highland Park late Wednesday night/early Thursday morning.

Detroit Fire & Highland Park Fire responded to a basement fire in an occupied dwelling around 11:53PM Wednesday night.

Engine 44 was first on the scene and notified Central Dispatch that civilians were inside the dwelling and companies should prepare for search and rescue.

According to dispatch tapes, a total of 3 victims were rescued by firefighters on the scene.

Detroit EMS sent Medic 16 to the fire scene as standby. With the rescue of victims on the scene, Medic 16 requested a second medic.

DEMS Medic 18 with DEMS Supervisor 1104 responded. The victims were conveyed by DEMS Medic 16 to DRH in unknown conditions.

Dispatch Audio: “We Have A Good Shooting Here” – Bloody Night In Detroit

Detroit: January 16/17 2019 – Shots rang out in several areas of Detroit Wednesday evening and early Thursday morning. 3 shootings were recorded, 2 on Detroit’s west side and 1 in the east. Thankfully, it ‘appears’ that all three were non-fatal.


Pembroke & Faust Shooting


Detroit’s West Side: DPD Scouts responded to Pembroke & Faust last night on reports of a shooting. Officer’s found a victim with a GSW and Detroit EMS conveyed the victim to a local hospital.

Details were hard to come by on this one, but Detroit PD’s evidence techs were dispatched to the scene for a non-fatal shooting.


Coyle & Puritan Shooting


Detroit’s West Side: The second shooting took place in the area of Coyle & Puritan.

The victim was privately conveyed to Providence Hospital in Southfield. There, the victim told investigating officers that the shooting took place in the area of Coyle & Puritan.


Harding & E Warren Shooting



The third shooting took place in the 5th Precinct, Detroit’s east side. A 911 caller stated that his son had been shot in the 4500 block of Harding. Arriving officer’s found the victim with a GSW and reported a “good shooting” to dispatch.

‘Good Shooting” is just a term DPD uses to identify a confirmed shooting, that’s all it is, no shooting is a good shooting.

DEMS Medic 13 conveyed the victim to Detroit Receiving Hospital in an unknown condition.

Dispatch Audio: Detroit EMS Rig Involved In Hit & Run

DEMS Medic 6 Damaged In Hit & Run

Detroit’s West Side: A Detroit EMS rig was struck today while conveying a Code 1 (emergency) patient to Detroit Receiving Hospital.

Detroit EMS Medic 4 had just picked up an accident victim from the I-96 & I-94 when a blue Chevy Equinox slammed into their rig, disabling it. The accident occurred at around 12:30pm near the intersection of Canfield & John R, just west of DRH.

“He Messed Up My Truck”

No injuries were reported but the rig suffered enough damage to where the patient had to be transferred to DEMS Medic 8 for the remainder of the run.

Interesting side note, DEMS Medic 6 voluntarily replaced DEMS Medic 8 on the original run.

The blue Chevy Equinox was last seen rabbiting east on Canfield towards St Antoine.

Dispatch Audio: Double Fatal Accident Involving DDOT Bus On Detroit’s West Side

Curtis & Meyers On Detroit’s West Side

Detroit’s West Side: (7:30am) DPD’s 12th Precinct, Detroit Fire and Detroit EMS were called to Meyers & Curtis early Sunday morning for a serious traffic collision involving a DDOT Bus.

Detroit Fire’s Engine 30 was the first on the scene with DEMS Medic 3. Engine 30 notified Central Dispatch that Squad 5 should be prepared to use JAWS and that additional DEMS Medics were needed.

Preliminary reports indicate a vehicle travelling southbound on Meyers struck the the Detroit Department of Transportation Bus #1030 in the rear.

The driver of the vehicle was extricated by DFD’s Squad 5 and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. A female in the rear seat of the vehicle was ejected through the windshield, landed on the hood of the vehicle and died at the scene.

Detroit EMS Medic notified DEMS Supervisor 1105 that he had 5 ‘critical patients’ and 2 ‘K-Type’ (fatal) on the scene. A total of 5 Detroit EMS Medics responded during the incident.

The number of passengers on the bus and their injuries are unknown at this time.

Detroit Fire’s Engine 30 notified Central Dispatch that Squad 5 and all the Detroit EMS Medics were to gather for a ‘table-top’ debrief following the incident.

Detroit Police sent evidence technicians to process the scene and the DPD Fatal Squad also responded to the incident.
