DEMS Medic 6 Damaged In Hit & Run
Detroit’s West Side: A Detroit EMS rig was struck today while conveying a Code 1 (emergency) patient to Detroit Receiving Hospital.
Detroit EMS Medic 4 had just picked up an accident victim from the I-96 & I-94 when a blue Chevy Equinox slammed into their rig, disabling it. The accident occurred at around 12:30pm near the intersection of Canfield & John R, just west of DRH.

No injuries were reported but the rig suffered enough damage to where the patient had to be transferred to DEMS Medic 8 for the remainder of the run.
Interesting side note, DEMS Medic 6 voluntarily replaced DEMS Medic 8 on the original run.
The blue Chevy Equinox was last seen rabbiting east on Canfield towards St Antoine.
