Multiple Alarm Apartment Fire April 7 2023

Detroit Fire’s 4 Alarm Fire La Salle Blvd & W Davison



Detroit 03:42AM April 7 2023: Detroit Fire was called to 13505 La Salle Blvd Friday morning on reports of an occupied apartment building fire. Engine 40 arrived on scene and reported a 4 story (5 Story) apartment building on fire, people jumping from the building.

Companies On Fire Scene: Engines 35 39 30 44 42 34 40 56 Hamtramck Engine 1. Ladder Trucks 7 18 22 17, Squads 2 3 5, Hazmat 1 2, Battalion Chief’s 5 8, Senior Chief 203, Deputy Chief 202, DEMS Medic’s 1 2 3 4 17, DEMS Supervisors 1103 1106 1107 1111, DPD Arson Cars 802 809, Fire Marshal’s 602 608.

4th Alarm Companies were cancelled following a MAYDAY call, members of Engine 39 were unaccounted for but found shortly after the MAYDAY by Senior Chief 203. Companies dispatched and cancelled were Engines 27 33, Ladder Truck 27 & Squad 6.

There were multiple civilian injuries on the fire scene, DEMS conveyed to local hospital. The American Red Cross also arrived on scene for around 17 residents needing assistance.

Michigan State Police are on scene assisting the Detroit Fire Department with a drone for mapping and photos of the fire scene.

The building is a total loss. It doesn’t appear as if any firefighters were injured during the fight. Below dispatch audio is a rather lengthy.

DISPATCH AUDIO: Michigan State Police Officer Involved Shooting, Detroit’s West Side

Suspect Shoots at MSP’s Trooper 2

Detroit 730PM 1/24/2023: Michigan State Police Helicopter Trooper 2 reported having a green laser pointed at them from a window of a residence in the 12800 block of Terry St at around 7:30 PM Tuesday evening. Trooper 2 asked for assistance from MSP Troopers. As ground units were making the scene, Trooper 2 reported the subject appeared to be armed with a long gun, then started firing on the helicopter.

Arriving Troopers arrived on scene, located the suspect and the officer involved shooting occurred. The suspect was reported down. The weapon was either in the hands of the suspect or very close by when he fell.

DEMS Medic 27 was dispatched to the scene and staged nearby.

MSP Troopers secured the scene while gathering assets to approach and secure not only the suspect but the residence where the suspect was located. Troopers began their call-outs or announcements in case there were other occupants in the house at around 755PM. Trooper 2 advised that at no time during the incident did they notice any movement from other than the suspect and a dog on scene.

Detroit Police’s 2nd Precinct + responded but were prevented from entering the scene, tasked with shutting down the area and securing the perimeter, closing down EB & WB Tyler from Greenfield to Grand River.

The suspect and residence was soon cleared by MSP’s SRT and DEMS Medic 27 pulled around to the scene, declaring the suspect deceased. Trooper 2 returned to base once the scene was secured and performed inspections to see if they had been hit by any of the rounds fired by the suspect.

Officer Involved Shooting: 01/24/23, at 7:30 PM Location: 12857 Terry St., Detroit, MI. 

The Detroit Regional Communication Center was notified by Trooper 2 (on patrol in the City of Detroit) that they were being hit by a green laser. The suspect was shining the laser from the second story of the address. Moments later, Trooper 2 advised that they were now being shot at from the same location. Troopers from the Meteo South post responded and approached the home on foot. The suspect came out of the home and started firing at which time trooper (s) returned fire. The male suspect has died on scene. Members of the Homicide Task Force have responded and are investigating. More information will be released as the investigation continues.

Michigan State Police Update #2

Officer Involved Shooting Update:
Members of the joint homicide task force are continuing their investigation in to the shooting involving two state troopers from the Metro South Post. The suspect has been identified as a 33 year old male from Lincoln Park. Pending any further information, it has been determined the suspect was staying in the abandoned home on Terry. Five firearms were recovered from the home and one was recovered from him. Currently, detectives have not been able to determine a motive. There were no other people in the home at the time of the shooting.There were no injuries to troopers or members of the public. Trooper Two (Helicopter) was not hit in the incident.

OIS Michigan State Police: MSP Troopers have been involved in an OIS in the 12800 block of Terry x Tyler. The suspect is down, DPD scouts also responding. It doesn’t appear as if any Troopers have been injured.

Dispatch Audio: SHOTS FIRED! Detroit Police’s 6th Precinct Scouts trade gunfire with suspect armed with high powered rifle

Officer Involved Shooting On Detroit’s West Side

Detroit’s West Side: DPD 6th Precinct Scouts were dispatched to the 6000 block of Westwood for an unknown problem at around 3:01PM, later announced as assistance to bailiffs executing an eviction. The location was triangulated by x/y coordinates. Arriving officers from the 6th Precinct immediately asked for a 6th Precinct supervisor to make the scene.

Officers on the scene called out shots fired and reported an individual was firing on them with a high powered rifle around 3:20PM. No officers were injured at that time and officers did fire their weapons according to dispatch audio. Detroit PD’s SRT/SWAT was recalled and a barricaded gunman incident was declared.

2 suspects were taken into custody and the house was cleared by Metro SRT. It doesn’t appear as if any additional suspects were taken into custody and no injuries were reported on scene.

The scene has been declared secure and ended peacefully without injuries to scouts of suspect(s).

Shooting in the 12100 block of Monica, 10th Precinct

Detroit’s West Side-140PM 5 Nov 2021: Detroit Police’s 10th Precinct responded to the 12100 block of Monica x Cortland earlier this afternoon on reports of a shooting. Dispatch audio suggests the victim was shot in the face. DEMS Medic 10 was dispatched to the scene and upon arrival, notified EMS Dispatch the victim was chained to a fence, Detroit Fire’s Engine 42 with Battalion Chief 2 were dispatched to offer assistance. Shortly afterward, Detroit Fire was cancelled when 10th Precinct police officers were able to extricate the victim from the fence. DEMS Medic 10 conveyed the GSW to Sinai-Grace, critical.

Dispatch Audio: Detroit Fire Finds Body In Trunk Of Burning Vehicle

Detroit Fire’s Engine 57 Finds Body In Burning Vehicle

Detroit’s West Side 1227AM November 3 2021: Detroit Fire was dispatch to the 12800 block of Chapel for a dwelling fire at around 1227AM Wednesday morning. On arrival, Detroit Fire’s Engine 57 reported a car fire and cancelled the box alarm. Shortly afterward, Engine 57 reported “One in the trunk” to Central Dispatch. Arson Car 811 was notified as well as the Detroit Police Department’s 6th Precinct. DEMS Medic 22 was also dispatched to the scene. Detroit Police dispatched evidence/forensic techs to the scene shortly afterward.

Update via DPD:

via DPD: HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION: Detroit police are investigating the findings of a body inside of a burned vehicle in the 12800 block of Chapel on the city’s west side. The discovery happened 12:30 a.m. this morning (Nov. 3). DPD received notification that the vehicle — a Chevrolet Impala — is connected to a missing person case out of Rochester Hills. The identity of the victim is undetermined at this time. We have K-9 and homicide units canvassing the area as we work to solve this case. We’ll provide updates as info is made available.

Update 2 via DPD (4:00PM Nov 3 2021: UPDATE: Detroit police are questioning two persons of interest in connection to this homicide investigation. No further details are immediately available.
