Dispatch Audio: DPD 6th Precinct officer injured while arresting a bad guy on the west side.

Officer Injures Head, Shakes It Off, Arrests Suspect


Detroit’s West Side (5:30AM): DPD 6th Precinct officers sitting on a ‘shots fired into an occupied dwelling” call in the 7400 block of Rockdale, waiting on DPD evidence technicians to arrive, found themselves in a foot chase with 3 suspects, according to dispatch audio. It’s unknown if those 3 subjects were involved in the earlier shots fired into the dwelling incident.

The 6th Precinct Scout, with 2 officers assigned, were waiting on evidence technicians to arrive and process the scene. The officer was injured while scaling a fence in a backyard on the 7300 block of Dacosta, severely injuring his head. The officer apparently shook it off, rubbed some dirt in his face and arrested one of the fleeing suspects….because he’s a badass.

Although DEMS Medics were ordered, officers on the scene conveyed the injured officer to Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn. Dispatch audio the injured officer experienced difficulty breathing during the conveyance and hospital officials were made aware.

DPD established a perimeter around the area, ordered K9 to the scene and continued their investigation. The suspect arrested by the injured officer was conveyed to the DDC (Detroit Detention Center) by other DPD scouts.The injured officer’s condition is unknown at this time.

Dispatch Audio: Man shot in head on Detroit’s west side

32 year old Shot @ Tracey & Puritan

Detroit’s West Side: Officers from the 2nd & 12th Precincts responded to the area of Tracy & Puritan early Friday morning at about 2:35AM on reports of shots being fired.

An arriving scout from the 12th Precinct discovered a 32 year old male sprawled in the street at the corner of Tracy & Puritan. Scouts originally notified supervisors the male wasn’t shot, but quickly amended that report saying the victim had a gunshot wound to the back of the head. Detroit EMS Medic 3, already responding to the incident, was notified of the change. Medic 3 conveyed the victim to Sinai-Grace Hospital with a DPD scout on board.

Officers were given information by witnesses that a man, possibly named “Jeff”, was responsible for the shooting and he was driving a grey/silver 2003 Buick Rendezvous.

According to dispatch audio, officers discovered a vehicle matching the description parked in front of a residence in the 15800 block of Tracey. Officers established a perimeter around the house but a barricaded gunman incident was NOT declared.

Police are still investigating. Condition of the victim is unknown.

Dispatch Audio: “Pool of Blood” 17 year old female stabbed to death on Detroit’s west side

Detroit’s West Side: Detroit’s 8th Precinct responded to the 15000 block of Grandville Thursday at around 1:30PM on reports of a 17 year old female found in a basement in a “pool of blood”. Detroit EMS Medic 4 & Detroit Fire’s Engine 53 also responded for a 17 year old in cardiac arrest.

Family members of the suspect heard noises coming from the basement and discovered the teen stabbed and in cardiac arrest. DEMS Medic 4 was the first on the scene and notified dispatch they had a “Code 7”, death, and to notify the DPD they had a crime scene.

Arriving officers established a perimeter and secured the scene. K9-4 was also dispatched to perform a track/search.

Reports indicate the 17 year old was stabbed by her 18 year old boyfriend, now in custody. Below is dispatch audio from Detroit EMS and Detroit Police.

Man shot multiple times during Dearborn domestic disturbance

Man Shot Multiple Times


Dearborn (2:53AM): Dearborn PD & FD were called to the 24300 block of Boston early Wednesday morning at around 2:53AM on reports of 2 people being shot at the location.

Arriving officers discovered one victim had been privately conveyed to the hospital, a second victim may have run from the residence and the suspect was still outstanding. A Dearborn PD officer stated there was 5 children inside the residence he was in the process of clearing.

Dearborn Police polled and responded to local hospitals in an attempt to locate the shooting victim conveyed by a family member. Police were also canvassing the area for another possible victim.

The shooting victim was finally located at Henry Ford Fairlane, 19401 Hubbard in the city of Dearborn. A Dearborn FD medic unit was dispatched to Henry Ford Fairlane to transport the critical shooting victim to Henry Ford Main in Detroit.

Witnesses told police there was only 1 shooting victim and that the shooting took place following an argument between the shooter and 2 others.

The suspect was named and a description of the vehicle was broadcast by Dearborn PD, a dark gray 2015 Dodge Durango, Michigan plate DZU 8110.

Dispatch Audio – Woman shot and killed on Detroit’s east side.

Houston-Whittier & Hayes

Detroit’s East Side (1:30AM): A woman was shot and killed early Tuesday morning @ Hayes & Houston Whittier. Officers were notified minutes earlier of shots being fired in the area. Units of the 9th Precinct started canvassing the area looking for a shooting scene when they were notified on a shooting on Hayes. A caller stated he saw the vehicle riddled with bullet holes but he wasn’t sure if anyone was inside the vehicle.

Arriving officers found a woman shot in the front seat of a burgundy GMC Envoy SUV, appearing to have suffered a GSW to the face.

Detroit EMS was dispatched to the scene, Medic 13 arrived and pronounced the victim deceased.

DEMS Medics were initially dispatched to Chalmers & Houston-Whittier at the Citgo Gas Station on reports of a man with a gunshot wound. That dispatch was soon amended to the shooting location on Hayes. The DPD were checking Green Light location tapes to see if they could identify another shooting victim.

Another 5th Precinct unit notified dispatch that he was flagged down by a man who stated his girlfriend had been killed by others, the dispatch audio is of low quality and it’s difficult to pin down the area, somewhere on Lakepointe.

Witnesses on the scene stated the shooting occurred between Kelly & Hayes, the suspect described as a 6′ Black male, armed with an “AR-15”.
