Gunfire grazes child on Detroit’s east side

January 9, 2020 By Motor City 911

7 year old grazed by bullet

Detroit’s East Side: Earlier this morning, at around 1:30AM, Detroit’s 9th Precinct responded to reports of shots fired into an occupied dwelling @ Lappin & Rex.

Upon arrival, officers found a 7 year old child had been grazed by a bullet fired into the occupied dwelling. Initially, according to dispatch audio, the parents/guardians/adults responsible for the 7 year old child refused medical aid by Detroit EMS. Also according to dispatch audio, scouts from the 9th Precinct would have none of that and ordered DEMS anyway.

DEMS Medic 15 and DEMS Supervisor 1104 made the scene. The child was apparently treated on the scene by Medic 15.

The shooter, well, a description was mentioned by someone else but hasn’t been confirmed by the DPD. Word has it the shots were fired by someone standing across the street from the house.

Officers seized the vehicle the suspect was driving, which will be turned over to law enforcement officials from North Dakota.

A warrant was out for Howard’s arrest for the murder of 42-year-old Chad Entzel in Bismarck, North Dakota.

Chad Entzel was found with a GSW to the head in a bedroom after authorities responded to a dwelling fire last week. It’s alleged that Howard set fire to the home after killing Entzel.

Law enforcement searched the room and found a box of shotgun shells with two missing, they also found an over/under shotgun on the bed with two shells inside and one was spent.

Howard was charged in Burleigh County with Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, Arson, Conspiracy to Commit Arson and Conspiracy to tamper with physical evidence.

Entzel’s wife, 38-year-old Nikki Entzel, has also been charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

“Today the men and woman of U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Port Huron made our community a safer place by arresting this suspect attempting to return to the United States,” said Port Director Michael Fox. “CBP Officers routinely interdict travelers who are fugitives with outstanding arrest warrants every day across America.”

Working as a state trooper means every shift is something new. This driver had some warrants and didn’t want to stop. Lucky no one was hurt, and the bad guy went to jail. #BacktheBlueDetroit pic.twitter.com/UNXBSpfAMI
