32 year old Shot @ Tracey & Puritan
Detroit’s West Side: Officers from the 2nd & 12th Precincts responded to the area of Tracy & Puritan early Friday morning at about 2:35AM on reports of shots being fired.
An arriving scout from the 12th Precinct discovered a 32 year old male sprawled in the street at the corner of Tracy & Puritan. Scouts originally notified supervisors the male wasn’t shot, but quickly amended that report saying the victim had a gunshot wound to the back of the head. Detroit EMS Medic 3, already responding to the incident, was notified of the change. Medic 3 conveyed the victim to Sinai-Grace Hospital with a DPD scout on board.
Officers were given information by witnesses that a man, possibly named “Jeff”, was responsible for the shooting and he was driving a grey/silver 2003 Buick Rendezvous.
According to dispatch audio, officers discovered a vehicle matching the description parked in front of a residence in the 15800 block of Tracey. Officers established a perimeter around the house but a barricaded gunman incident was NOT declared.
Police are still investigating. Condition of the victim is unknown.
