1 shot in the 8900 block of Mansfield x Ellis

Detroit’s West Side 550PM 7.26.24: Shooting: DPD’s 6th Precinct in the 8900 block of Mansfield x Ellis with a shooting. Detroit Fire’s Engine 53 and Rapid Response Medic 51 also responded.

CPR was reportedly in progress before the DFD arrived and continued to the hospital inside Rapid Response Medic 51. A firefighter from Engine 53 accompanied the medics to a local hospital.

DPD Scouts from the 6th Precinct blocked intersections for EMS leading into the scene and en route to the hospital.

Curt & Van Dyke, No Injuries To Troopers or Public

Detroit’s East Side (7:50AM 7.26.24): A Michigan State Police undercover trooper was shot at earlier this morning while conducting operations in the area of Curt & Van Dyke on Detroit’s east side. After receiving fire, the UC vehicle contacted dispatch with the location of the shooting and a suspect/suspect vehicle description. Another UC vehicle followed the suspect vehicle, a gray 2020 Ford Escape with 1 B/M driver through the east side until losing sight of the vehicle on 8 Mile E & Syracuse.

The involved trooper nor his vehicle were hit by fired rounds. The investigation continues.

Recap of Overnight Runs By DPD, DFD & DEMS 7.25.24

Detroit: This is a recap of runs made by the DPD, DFD & DEMS in the early morning hours of 7.25.24.

Detroit Fire Box Alarm West Side

Box Alarm (227AM): Detroit Fire responded to the 8400 block of Brace on reports of a vacant dwelling fire. Battalion Chief 4 took incident command with Battalion Chief 2 as safety officer. Engine 55 was first on the scene and reported stretching on a 1.5 story dwelling. Primary and secondary searches were negative. Battalion Chief 4 reported the fire was out at 3:00AM. No injuries reported.

Companies on the fire scene: Engines 53, 55, 57, Ladder Truck 27, Squad 4, Battalion Chief’s 2/4 and DEMS Medic 5.

West Side Shooting

Shooting (3:05AM): DPD responded to Meyers & Eaton on reports of a shooting. Arriving scouts confirmed the shooting and DFD’s Engine 30 (MFR) and DEMS Medic 20 responded. DEMS Medic 20 conveyed 1 to a local hospital.

Medical Aid/Child

Medical Aid (5:40AM): DPD’s 6th Precinct, DFD’s Engine 57 (MFR) and DEMS Medic 4 responded to Pierson & Schoolcraft on reports of a 10yo in cardiac arrest. The child was also described as an infant so the exact age is unknown. Engine 57/DEMS Medic 4 were advised CPR was in progress. CPR was continued when Engine 57 & DEMS Medic 4 arrived on scene. DEMS Medic 4 conveyed the child to Children’s Hospital with 1 firefighter from Engine 57 on board to assist with CPR. DEMS Medic 4 was rerouted to Sinai-Grace due to the severity of the run.

Detroit Fire Box Alarm (5:45AM): Detroit Fire responded to 2218 S Bassett on reports of a dwelling fire. Engine 48 was first on the fire scene and stretched on a single family dwelling going throughout. Battalion Chief 7 took incident command with Battalion Chief 1 as safety officer. Primary and secondary searches were negative on the vacant dwelling. Battalion Chief 7 reported the fire was out at 6:20AM.

Companies on fire scene: Engines 27, 33, 48, Ladder Truck 13, Squad 4, Battalion Chief’s 1/7 and DEMS Medic 11.

DPD’s 7th Precinct at 535 Chene investigating a shooting at King Homes

1 Shot at 535 Chene

DPD’s 7th Precinct 1027PM 7.24.24: DPD’s 7th Precinct responded to 535 Chene on reports of a shooting. Arriving units initially didn’t have a victim but discovered the victim shortly afterward. DEMS Medic 21 also responded.

DPD Scouts reported the shooter is a young B/M, 18yo, braids and tattoos on arm. Multiple units are now on scene, locking the area down.

DEMS Medic 21 conveyed 1 to a local hospital, post-haste.

Dispatch Audio Suggests Female Shot In Hand

Detroit’s NW Side 7.24.24: DPD’s 10th Precinct responded to the 4000 block of W Davison earlier this evening on reports of a shooting. Dispatch audio suggests a female of unknown age received a gunshot wound to the hand. DPD Evidence Techs were dispatched to process the scene of the shooting on W Davison and to the hospital where the victim was conveyed.
