Another Wrong Way Driver On The Lodge

Northbound In The Southbound Lanes

via Michigan State Police:

Serious Injury Crash: On 8/1 at 4:45 AM, troopers were dispatched to southbound M-10 north of I-94 for a traffic crash. Preliminary investigation revealed that a driver of a passenger vehicle was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of the Lodge.

The at fault driver stuck another vehicle. The at fault driver was critically injured as a result of the head on impact crash. They were transported to a local hospital. The non at fault driver was transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Troopers are continuing to investigate this incident. It has not been determined if impairment is involved in this incident or how the at fault driver got on the freeway the wrong way.

Argument Leads To Shooting At 15441 Plymouth

Detroit’s West Side 3:00PM July 31 2021:

Shooting via DPD: Around 3 p.m. officers responded to a shooting on the 15400 block of Plymouth.
Investigation revealed that an argument occurred between an employee and customer. The employee shot the customer.

•victim in stable condition

•employee arrested

•firearm recovered

(DPD evidence techs were dispatched to process the scene/search warrant.)

Wrong Way Driver On Eastbound I-96 Kills Motorcycle Passenger

Wrong Way Driver Kills One, Injures a Second on I-96

Via Michigan State Police:

Fatal Crash: On July 31 2021 at approximately 3:15 AM, MSP Detroit Regional Communication Center (DRCC) began receiving calls of a wrong-way driver traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-96.

Shortly after they began receiving calls of crash at eastbound I-96 and Meyers. Preliminary investigation revealed that the wrong way driver of a passenger car stuck a motorcycle that had a rider and passenger. The motorcycle caught fire after the collision.

The female rider of the motorcycle was killed on impact. The male driver of the motorcycle has serious injuries and is in a local hospital.

Alcohol Is Suspected

The 33 year old male driver of the wrong way vehicle was treated and released from a local hospital and is currently being lodged at the Detroit Detention Center. Alcohol is suspected and the at fault driver has one prior alcohol offense. Pends prosecutor review.

Fatal Motorcycle Crash, SB Lodge & Wyoming

Excessive Speed Is A Factor~Michigan State Police

via MSP: On 7/30 at 9:30 AM troopers responded to a serious motorcycle crash on the Wyoming exit ramp from southbound Lodge. Preliminary investigation revealed the the driver of a sport bike was southbound Lodge exiting to Wyoming.

The driver did not negotiate the curve and went airborne/straight crashing into the side of the hill. The driver was thrown from his motorcycle into a tree. Excessive speed is a factor.

The time of the crash appears to be sometime overnight judging by evidence on scene. The driver was not wearing a helmet.

Troopers are notifying next of kin. The driver was turned over to the ME office pending autopsy. Pends ME report.
