Excessive Speed Is A Factor~Michigan State Police
via MSP: On 7/30 at 9:30 AM troopers responded to a serious motorcycle crash on the Wyoming exit ramp from southbound Lodge. Preliminary investigation revealed the the driver of a sport bike was southbound Lodge exiting to Wyoming.
The driver did not negotiate the curve and went airborne/straight crashing into the side of the hill. The driver was thrown from his motorcycle into a tree. Excessive speed is a factor.
The time of the crash appears to be sometime overnight judging by evidence on scene. The driver was not wearing a helmet.
Troopers are notifying next of kin. The driver was turned over to the ME office pending autopsy. Pends ME report.
