Dispatch Audio: Inkster PD Officer Involved Shooting and Pursuit.

Pursuit & Shots Fired In Inkster

Inkster: At around 4:10PM Sunday afternoon, Inkter Police received reports of 3 Black males breaking into a boarded up apartment in the area of 2630 Hamlin in the City of Inkster. Arriving units reported the suspects vehicle, a purple Dodge Challenger was in the process of fleeing the scene.



Officer pursued the vehicle from the scene and at one point, the suspects vehicle struck a police unit. Officers fired on the vehicle with their service weapons, striking it multiple times. It’s unknown if the suspect(s) were struck by gunfire. No officers were injured.

The pursuit proceeded on city streets and the I-94, at one time exiting the freeway at Rawsonville Road near Willow Run Airport. The vehicle then again entered the EB I-94, still being pursued by the police.

Officers lost sight of the vehicle in the area of the 275 & I-94.

Later, Detroit Police Greenlight 3 located the wanted vehicle at 7 Mile & Stout/Votrobeck in the City of Detroit. The DPD, Inkster and Michigan State Police have a perimeter set up in the area and the investigating continues.

It now appears the DPD is closing down the investigation in the area of 7 Mile & Stout.

MSP Update

Update: MSP was contacted by Inkster Police to assist with a B & E and shots fired at a apartment complex off Hamlin Dr in the city of Inkster. Very preliminary investigation revealed that Inkster Police officers confronted three suspects fleeing after trying to break in.

One of the suspects got into a purple Dodge Challenger. As the suspect fled he struck one or two patrol cars and police fired at the suspect. At this time there are no injuries to suspect(s) or officers.

The suspect vehicle fled the area.

The suspect was pursued by several downriver area departments until they lost contact with the suspect. At approximately 6 35 PM, DPD units located the vehicle unoccupied in the area of 7 Mile and Stout. Currently, none of the suspects are in custody.

Christmas Morning Fire On Detroit’s East Side Claims 2 Children’s Lives

2 Children Killed On Helen St

Detroit’s East Side: Detroit Police Scouts reported a working dwelling fire early this morning around 8:45AM. Scouts from the 11th Precinct reported they had a dwelling fire in the 20000 block of Helen St x Outer Dr.

Officers on scene reported they had 3 civilians, a mother and 2 children outside the residence and 2 children were still inside the residence. Officers attempted to enter but were unable due to the flames.

Detroit Fire’s 9th Battalion was dispatched to the scene along with Detroit EMS medics.

Arriving companies were notified 2 children were unaccounted for and immediately started a search of both floors of the 2 story dwelling. DPD reports indicated at least 1 victim had jumped out of a window to escape the flames.

Companies discovered the children, a 4 year old and a 6 year old, in a room on the 1st floor.

DEMS Medics 16, 14, 15 and DEMS Supervisor 1104 were also dispatched to the fire scene.

Detroit Police 8th Precinct Investigating another shooting, Oakfield & Cambridge

2 Females Shot According To Audio

Detroit’s NW Side (3:15PM): DPD’s 8th Precinct investigating a shooting in which 2 females were shot according to dispatch audio. Audio also suggests 1 of those females has a gunshot wound to the mouth and is still breathing. Both were conveyed to Sinai-Grace Hospital. The shooting scene appears to be in the area of Oakfield & Cambridge, DPD scouts were dispatched a few minutes before for a shots fired run, reported by citizens. Scouts are currently canvassing for the scene of the shooting.

The 8th Precinct is also responding to 7800 block of Outer Drive to secure the vehicle the females were traveling in.

Dispatch Audio: Fatal Fire At Plymouth & Fielding Early Tuesday Morning

Detroit Fire’s 2nd & 4th Battalions

Detroit’s West Side: Detroit Fire’s 2nd & 4th Battalions were called to 20522 Plymouth Rd x Fielding early Tuesday morning at around 12:19AM for a working commercial apartment building fire. A 2nd Alarm was struck at 00:23AM. The fire was contained to 1 apartment unit according to dispatch audio.

Detroit Police evidence techs were dispatched to process the scene of a DOS (Death on Scene) due to this fatal fire.

Companies on fire scene: Detroit Fire’s Battalion Chief’s 2 & 4, Engines 54, 55 and 59. Ladder Trucks 26, 27, Squads 1 and 5.

2nd Alarm: Senior Chief 203, Ladder Truck 17 and DPD Arson Car 801.

Dispatch Audio: Detroit Police 5th Precinct comes under fire

Homicide Suspect Fires On Precinct

Detroit’s East Side: A homicide suspect opened fire on DPD’s 5th Precinct earlier Tuesday morning at around 5:15AM. The shooter was wanted in an earlier fatal shooting in the area of Grand River & Warren at 11:18PM Monday evening. Dispatch audio of that incident is also below. The fatal shooting was in conjunction with a domestic violence incident. The suspect was 28 years old, wanted out of Southfield for domestic violence with a history of the same.

The suspect, in a black Lincoln Navigator, fired at least 4 rounds at the precinct from what is described as a high-powered AR type rifle, prompting an immediate lockdown. The suspect was pursued and ended up in a parking lot near the precinct. Scouts from numerous precincts converged on the area, locking it down, closing streets and notifying the nearby Chrysler Plant.

BOLO Issued For Homicide Suspect

Below is the BOLO or Be on the Lookout for the suspect wanted in the fatal shooting on Grand River. The BOLO was issued at 3:37AM.

During the incident, an officer was injured by flying glass, although those injuries were minor and the officer was treated by EMS on scene. The nearby McDonald’s also reported one of their windows was shot out during the incident.

The homicide/shooting suspect remained in his vehicle during the incident.

The homicide/shooting suspect was neutralized/shot & killed by members of Detroit’s SRT at 7:32AM after he exchanged fire with officers.

Local news is reporting this as a grocery store robbery of some sort, and those responsible fired on officers. There was a run at the same time for a number of people B&E’ing a market at Harper & Conner, but this was a completely separate incident in the 9th Precinct and no shots were fired.
