10 People Shot On Detroit’s West Side Overnight

3 Fatally Shot, 7 Others Wounded

Fatal 9700 Block Broadstreet

Detroit’s West Side (1:38AM): DPD’s 12th Precinct responded to reports of a man down in the rear of a dwelling at 9701 Broadstreet early Sunday morning. DEMS Medic 1 was dispatched and pronounced the victim deceased on scene. The victims identity is unknown but is believed to be between the ages of 25-30 years old.


Fatal W McNichols & Murray Hill

Detroit’s West Side (2:00AM): DPD’s 8th Precinct responded to reports of a shooting @ McNichols & Murray Hill. DEMS Medic 3 responded and pronounced the victim deceased on the scene. This victim may be in conjunction with the fatal shooting on San Juan & McNichols, below.


San Juan & McNichols

6 Shot, 2 Fatally On Detroit’s West Side

Detroit’s West Side (2:20AM): DPD’s 12th Precinct responded to reports of a shooting at San Juan & McNichols. DEMS Medic 5 reponded but didn’t convey, stating they had a K-Type (Fatal). Reports indicate 2 males, 21 and 24 years old, were fatally shot and 4 others, 2 men and 2 women were wounded. Since no victims were conveyed by DEMS, it’s safe to assume those who were wounded were privately conveyed to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. Detroit Police state all 6 shootings victims were at a gathering when someone fired rounds at the victims. No information on the shooter(s) were made public. The fatal shooting victim at W McNichols & Murray Hill may be in conjunction.


Non-Fatal Shooting On Lahser

Detroit’s West Side: DPD’s 8th Precinct responded to reports of a shooting in the 19300 block of Lahser just after midnight, Sunday morning. Reports indicate the victim, a 69 year old male was shot by someone outside while he was sitting inside his home. The victim was privately conveyed to the hospital in temp-serious condition.


Non-Fatal 8 Mile & Southfield Rd

Detroit’s West Side: DPD’s 8th Precinct responded to reports of a shooting in the area of 8 Mile & Southfield at around 1:40AM. The victim, a 20 year old was privately conveyed to a local hospital where he was last listed in critical condition.


Non-Fatal 9300 Block of Penrod

Detroit’s West Side (4:39AM): DPD’s 6th Precinct received reports of shots fired into an occupied dwelling and a male shot in the 9300 block of Penrod early Sunday morning at around 4:39AM. Arriving scouts found a 30 year old male with gunshot wounds. DEMS Medic 25 was dispatched and conveyed the victim to Oakwood/Beaumont Hospital in Dearborn. The victim is in stable condition. There is no information on the suspect(s).

Dwelling Fire Claims Life Of Child On Detroit’s West Side

Update July 3, 2020: The 5 year old female has passed away.

3 Others Injured On Pierson St

Detroit’s West Side: Detroit Fire’s 2nd Battalion were dispatched to a dwelling fire in the 8600 block of Pierson early Tuesday morning at 2:48AM.

Companies responding were notified by Central Dispatch civilians were trapped inside the dwellings. Battalion Chief 2 notified all responding companies to be prepared to mount a search upon arrival.

Detroit EMS Medics and a DEMS supervisor were also dispatched to the scene.

Battalion Chief 2 notified Central Dispatch that 2 civilians had been rescued from inside the dwelling and requested additional DEMS Medics to the scene for 2 additional casualties.

The children, reported to be 9 and 6 years old were conveyed; in cardiac arrest, to Children’s Hospital by DEMS Medic 5 with Detroit Fire’s Squad 1 assisting. An additional 2 adults were conveyed to Sinai-Grace Hospital by DEMS Medic 22. DEMS Medic 17 remained on the fire scene as stand-by while Detroit Fire’s 2nd Battalion fought the fire. Reports indicate the 9 year old female died of her injuries, the 5 year old female is in critical condition. The 2 adults conveyed to Sinai-Grace were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Detroit Police Arson Car 810 was also dispatched to the scene.

East Side Explodes In Gun Violence, 8 People Shot, 1 Fatally

Detroit Shootings Tues-Wed

Detroit’s East Side: Detroit’s east side exploded in gun violence Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning with 8 people shot, 1 fatally.


Chester & Kingsville

At around 10:40PM, DPD’s 5th Precinct was notified by Harper Woods PD of a shooting in the area of Chester & Moross. Investigating eventually discovered a scene at Chester & Kingsville in Detroit. The victim was critically wounded according to dispatch audio and was conveyed by Medstar EMS to St John. This remains a non-fatal shooting.



Fatal Shooting-Runyon & Greiner

Detroit’s East Side: At approximately 11:30PM DPD’s 9th Precinct responded to reports of a shooting at Runyon & Greiner on Detroit’s east side. Arriving units discovered a 17 year old victim. Detroit EMS Medic 15 arrived and declared the victim deceased. Reports indicate the teen was shot while returning to his vehicle following a vigil held in a local park.



Longview & Roseberry

Detroit’s East Side: At approximately 12:23AM Wednesday morning, DPD’s 9th & 5th Precincts were notified of a triple shooting in the 12000 block of Longview. Detroit EMS Supervisor reported multiple victims, requiring a 2 unit response from Detroit EMS. DEMS Medic 13 & 15 to the scene. DEMS Medic 13 conveyed the wounded to St John Hospital on Moross.



Navahoe & Freud

Detroit’s East Side: At approximately 2:45AM a DPD scout from the 5th Precinct was flagged down and notified of a shooting victim sitting on a porch in the 800 block of Tennessee. Investigation discovered the shooting scene in the 700 block of Navahoe, with 2 people shot according to dispatch audio. DEMS Medic 12 conveyed 1 female with a GSW to the ankle from Jefferson & Connor and 1 GSW victim from the 800 block of Tennessee. At the time of this writing, this is a non-fatal shooting.



Connor & Essex

Detroit’s East Side: At approximately 5:30AM, DPD’s 5th Precinct were notified of a shooting in the 500 block of Connor. Arriving units discovered 1 person with a gunshot wound. DEMS Medic 14 was dispatched and conveyed the critically wounded victim to St John Hospital on Moross.

Detroit Fire’s 9th Battalion Discovers 3 Bodies On East Side Fire Scene

19100 Block Of Helen


Detroit’s East Side (1215AM): Detroit Fire’s 9th Battalion were dispatched early Thursday morning on reports of a dwelling fire in the 19100 block of Helen. Detroit Fire’s Engine 56 arrived and started putting water on the fire, reporting there may be people trapped.

Companies found the bodies of 3 persons, burned beyond recognition, in the living room of the dwelling. It’s unknown if they perished in the fire or were victims of a crime.

Witnesses on scene report they saw someone flee from the dwelling shortly after the fire started.

Reports indicate the Detroit Police 11th Precinct has taken 2 people into custody for questioning. DPD’s Arson Team is investigating.

Monroe Police Officer Shot, Suspects In Custody-Dispatch Audio

Updated – Monroe, Michigan: At approximately 8:04PM on Saturday, May 24th Monroe Police received reports of a carjacking in the area of 2nd & Winchester Streets. A Monroe PD unit, 3Adam, quickly located the vehicle, a blue Ford Escape, in the parking lot of Taco Bell @ 1300 North 60 Hwy.

When the officer left her unit to make contact, the suspects exited the blue Ford Escape and opened fire, shots were exchanged and the officer was struck at least once.

Arriving officers pursued the suspects a short distance, taking one of them into custody following a taser deployment, according to dispatch audio. The second armed suspect, thought to have been struck by the officers return gunfire, was chased down and taken into custody behind Backyard Solutions on Ternes. The weapon involved in the attack was also recovered. The suspect was not injured.


The officer, Monroe Police Cpl. Renae Peterson, a 16-year veteran of the department was conveyed to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the side/abdomen, then transferred to a hospital in Toledo where she remains in stable condition.


The Suspects

Kordney Antwoine Mcdonald, a 21 year old from the city of Ypsilanti. He was arraigned on (17) felony counts including Assault with Intent to Murder. No bond given.


Kobe Ryan Falls, a 21 year old from the city of Monroe. He was arraigned on (13) felony counts. Bond was set at $750,000.
