“What The Hell Just Happened?” says everyone in Grosse Pointe Farms

Grosse Pointe Farms: The rather bucolic community of Grosse Pointe Farms was shaken to its core early Saturday morning when miscreants from “elsewhere” invaded their beautiful little city with guns a’blazing.
I was on my boat, the white one over there, wait, no, that one over there. Sorry, they all look the same after awhile, anyway, I was on the boat checking out my porfolio when this car came screaming through the parking lot, it was like Dukes of Hazard, except the car was white and not orange…and it didn’t actually jump anything, it just drove into the water, kerplunk…but you know what I mean. Oh look, Facebook is up 1.8% …
Grosse Pointe Farms Resident
A white Dodge Charger, chased by other vehicles, entered the city in the early am, just when residents are out strolling the lakeside enjoying its peaceful tranquility….except for Saturday morning.
A chase through city streets, described by some as starting in the area of Hoover & 7 Mile in Detroit, ended up at Pier Park. The white Dodge Charger, in an attempt to escape a fusillade of bullets being fired by the chase vehicles, drove into St Clair Lake near the parks boathouse. The driver then quickly, with arms waving, exited the vehicle and swam towards calmer surroundings, known around here as Canada.
You rarely have to drive into large bodies of water to escape bullets in Canada, izz nice there.
Grosse Pointe Farms Police said the swimmer eventually made it back to shore where he met with EMS. He’s described as having non life threatening injuries.
The folks who were chasing him were found and arrested by the police, most of them anyway, police seem to think there may be more outstanding.
Evidence was discovered in the vehicles, most notably the weapons and bullets used to chase the white Charger’s driver into the lake. The investigation continues…

Bang Bang, Bang Bang Bang
Detroit’s East Side: Detroit Police on the east side exchanged gunfire with a couple of bozos in the rear parking lot/security booth of Tycoon’s Executive Club, (Featuring the World’s Finest Showgirls) @ 12210 East 8 Mile Road/Dresden early Friday morning.
Thankfully, no one was hit during the exchange but officers took 2 into custody and recovered the firearm used by the two knuckleheads.
At that time of the morning, around 2:11am, DPD units were working a number of shots fired calls, mainly west of the Tycoon’s incident. The particulars of the shooting are being kept quiet and a call of inquiry to the DPD was met with “If you call us again, we’re calling the police”…..so, the dispatch audio is all you’re going to get.
DPD evidence techs were dispatched to process the scene before the evidence was buried by snowfall.
The audio picks up when the dispatcher acknowledges the “Shots Fired” call by the officers involved.
