Non Fatal Shooting, Shots Fired Into An Occupied Dwelling, Sunday Roundup

44 Year Old Male Shot On East Side


Detroit’s East Side (5:15AM): DPD’s 5th Precinct were dispatched to St John Hospital early Sunday morning for a shooting report. The victim had self-conveyed to St John Hospital at around 5:15AM. The victim suffered gunshot wounds to his forearm and leg.

Initially, officers were dispatched to Maiden & Connor to canvass for a shooting scene, that information soon changed after interviewing the victim and officers were sent to Gunston & Maiden. The victim is in stable condition.


Shots Fired Into An Occupied Dwelling

Detroit’s West Side (4:00AM): DPD scouts from the 6th Precinct were dispatched to the 9900 block of Longacre early Sunday morning on reports of shots fired into an occupied dwelling. No one was injured and Detroit Police Evidence/Forensic techs were dispatched to process the scene.

Dispatch Audio: DPD 6th Precinct officer injured while arresting a bad guy on the west side.

Officer Injures Head, Shakes It Off, Arrests Suspect


Detroit’s West Side (5:30AM): DPD 6th Precinct officers sitting on a ‘shots fired into an occupied dwelling” call in the 7400 block of Rockdale, waiting on DPD evidence technicians to arrive, found themselves in a foot chase with 3 suspects, according to dispatch audio. It’s unknown if those 3 subjects were involved in the earlier shots fired into the dwelling incident.

The 6th Precinct Scout, with 2 officers assigned, were waiting on evidence technicians to arrive and process the scene. The officer was injured while scaling a fence in a backyard on the 7300 block of Dacosta, severely injuring his head. The officer apparently shook it off, rubbed some dirt in his face and arrested one of the fleeing suspects….because he’s a badass.

Although DEMS Medics were ordered, officers on the scene conveyed the injured officer to Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn. Dispatch audio the injured officer experienced difficulty breathing during the conveyance and hospital officials were made aware.

DPD established a perimeter around the area, ordered K9 to the scene and continued their investigation. The suspect arrested by the injured officer was conveyed to the DDC (Detroit Detention Center) by other DPD scouts.The injured officer’s condition is unknown at this time.

Dispatch Audio: “Pool of Blood” 17 year old female stabbed to death on Detroit’s west side

Detroit’s West Side: Detroit’s 8th Precinct responded to the 15000 block of Grandville Thursday at around 1:30PM on reports of a 17 year old female found in a basement in a “pool of blood”. Detroit EMS Medic 4 & Detroit Fire’s Engine 53 also responded for a 17 year old in cardiac arrest.

Family members of the suspect heard noises coming from the basement and discovered the teen stabbed and in cardiac arrest. DEMS Medic 4 was the first on the scene and notified dispatch they had a “Code 7”, death, and to notify the DPD they had a crime scene.

Arriving officers established a perimeter and secured the scene. K9-4 was also dispatched to perform a track/search.

Reports indicate the 17 year old was stabbed by her 18 year old boyfriend, now in custody. Below is dispatch audio from Detroit EMS and Detroit Police.

2 Shootings On Detroit’s west side, 3 victims

Detroit’s West Side: Detroit Police responded to two shootings this afternoon on Detroit’s west side, within an hour of each other.

Ohio & Midland

Ohio & Midland (1:22PM) DPD responded to reports of shots fired in the 15700 block of Ohio earlier this afternoon. Arriving officers discovered 2 people shot, it’s unclear at this time if they’re suspects or victims of a crime. A weapon(s) was also recovered by officers.

Detroit EMS Medic’s 18 & 27 conveyed those suffering from gunshot wounds to an area hospital. Officers have been dispatched to the hospital to “sit on” those with a GSW. A K9 has been dispatched to the scene. Conditions of injured unknown.

Puritan & Fairfield Marathon Gas

Detroit’s West Side (2:08PM): Detroit Police were also dispatched to the Marathon Gas Station @ Puritan & Fairfield on reports of a shooting. Arriving officers discovered 1 person with a gunshot wound. A brief description of the suspect was broadcast.

DEMS Medic 20 responded and conveyed the victim to a local hospital.

Male Black, 6′ in height, medium build, wearing either a red or green hoodie, a black coat and a black mask. Reports indicate he was last seen in the alley behind the gas station.

48 hours of gun violence, 6 shot in Detroit this weekend, so far…

Detroit: This weekend, so far, Detroit has seen 6 people shot, 5 in a 24 hour period.

Casgrain & Lafayette

In Detroit’s southwest, a man was shot and killed early Saturday morning at around 2:45AM @ Casgrain & Lafayette. A 26 year old male was shot and killed.


14th Street & Clairmount

On Detroit’s west side in the 10th Precinct, a male was shot @ 14th & Clairmount early Saturday afternoon around 2:55PM.


Taylor & Linwood

On Detroit’s west side, again in the 10th Precinct, a 36 year old man was shot following an attempted robbery and a struggle between the attacker and the victim. The victim was shot, a woman with the victim at the time ran from the scene as well as the shooter. The victim is said to be in stable condition.


McNichols & Arlington

On Detroit’s east side, a 19 year old male was shot while out walking in the area of E McNichols & Arlington @ around 12:04AM, early Sunday morning. The victim was approached by 3 men in a black older model sedan. While 1 of the suspects robbed the victim, another inside the vehicle shot him. The victim was privately conveyed to the hospital and is listed in stable condition.


Otis & Junction

In Detroit’s southwest at around 2:25AM early Sunday morning, a 25 year old male was shot in the head and arm @ Otis & Junction. Detroit Police 4th Precinct officers conveyed the victim to Detroit Receiving Hospital according to dispatch audio. The DPD is looking for a white Ford Focus that may be involved in the shooting. Victim is said to be in stable condition.


Liberal & Crusade

On Detroit’s east side in the 9th Precinct a woman was shot at around 1:45PM Sunday afternoon. The woman was walking in the area of Liberal & Crusade when she was struck by 2 bullets. She ran from the area and ended up at a local hospital. DPD’s 5th Precinct took the report although the shooting took place in the 9th Precinct.
