Michigan State Police Vehicle Struck By, Wait For It….A Dodge Challenger

Saginaw Michigan: On 10/26 at 10 pm, Troopers were on a traffic stop in Saginaw on Genesee St near Landon St. A 2010 Dodge Challenger was travelling northbound and struck their patrol vehicle. The suspect vehicle continued to travel northbound on Genesee St.

Troopers gave chase on foot & caught up to the suspect vehicle as the driver was still attempting to leave the scene. IMPACT Team & Accident Reconstruction responded. The driver, a female, 33, from Saginaw was taken into custody for OUID. Thankfully there were no injuries.

WW1 Artillery Shell Hides Secret

MSP Bomb Squad assisted the Lansing Police over the weekend at a residence. Subjects cleaning out a family members house came across what they believed to be a live ammunition round and called police. Bomb squad conducted an x-ray and determined the round was not live according to the Michigan State Police.

Upon further examination, it was discovered this was a WW1 round containing a hidden treasure of coins and bills ranging from the 1800’s and early 1900’s. The non-live round was turned over to the bomb squad and treasure left with family.

Northbound In The Southbound Lanes

via Michigan State Police:

Serious Injury Crash: On 8/1 at 4:45 AM, troopers were dispatched to southbound M-10 north of I-94 for a traffic crash. Preliminary investigation revealed that a driver of a passenger vehicle was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of the Lodge.

The at fault driver stuck another vehicle. The at fault driver was critically injured as a result of the head on impact crash. They were transported to a local hospital. The non at fault driver was transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Troopers are continuing to investigate this incident. It has not been determined if impairment is involved in this incident or how the at fault driver got on the freeway the wrong way.

Wrong Way Driver On Eastbound I-96 Kills Motorcycle Passenger

Wrong Way Driver Kills One, Injures a Second on I-96

Via Michigan State Police:

Fatal Crash: On July 31 2021 at approximately 3:15 AM, MSP Detroit Regional Communication Center (DRCC) began receiving calls of a wrong-way driver traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-96.

Shortly after they began receiving calls of crash at eastbound I-96 and Meyers. Preliminary investigation revealed that the wrong way driver of a passenger car stuck a motorcycle that had a rider and passenger. The motorcycle caught fire after the collision.

The female rider of the motorcycle was killed on impact. The male driver of the motorcycle has serious injuries and is in a local hospital.

Alcohol Is Suspected

The 33 year old male driver of the wrong way vehicle was treated and released from a local hospital and is currently being lodged at the Detroit Detention Center. Alcohol is suspected and the at fault driver has one prior alcohol offense. Pends prosecutor review.

Fatal Motorcycle Crash, SB Lodge & Wyoming

Excessive Speed Is A Factor~Michigan State Police

via MSP: On 7/30 at 9:30 AM troopers responded to a serious motorcycle crash on the Wyoming exit ramp from southbound Lodge. Preliminary investigation revealed the the driver of a sport bike was southbound Lodge exiting to Wyoming.

The driver did not negotiate the curve and went airborne/straight crashing into the side of the hill. The driver was thrown from his motorcycle into a tree. Excessive speed is a factor.

The time of the crash appears to be sometime overnight judging by evidence on scene. The driver was not wearing a helmet.

Troopers are notifying next of kin. The driver was turned over to the ME office pending autopsy. Pends ME report.
