NORTHEAST DETROIT: A shooting occurred during a robbery on Detroit’s northeast side this afternoon at around 12:30OM. Two black male perps robbed the victim of his clothes, shoes and an iPhone on Glenwood St & Queen. The 2 suspects left the area on foot and Detroit Police are on a active search of the area. The victim was privately conveyed by family members to St John’s Hospital on Moross.
Detroit Police Pursuit Ends In Crash, Suspect Dies In Fiery Wreck

DETROIT POLICE: 2:45am Wednesday – A Detroit Police pursuit ended when the suspects vehicle slammed into a tree early this morning on the east side of Detroit. The pursuit resulted from a shots fired/domestic call on the east side of Detroit.
A Detroit Police Scout from the 11th Precinct responded to Gable & Charles and observed the suspect in a white Pontiac Grand Prix leaving the area. The officers advised dispatch that the suspect was waving a gun when observed.
The pursuit wound through streets in the 11th Precinct at high and slow rates of speed, eventually coming to an end in the 7th Precinct on French Rd just south of Shoemaker.
The pursuing officers advised the suspects vehicle “was throwing sparks” and that the vehicle may have a blown tire. The vehicle hit a tree in front of an abandoned school and the front and rear sections of the vehicle separated, resulting in a fire. Detroit Fire & Detroit EMS were requested by the pursuing DPD officers.
DPD officers immediately checked to see if there were any injuries and at first were unable to locate the suspect. A search of the area found that the suspect had been ejected from the vehicle, suffering a “dismemberment”. The DPD officer described the injuries as a K-Type (Fatal).
In addition to the primary 11th Precinct scout car, you can hear units from the 7th Precinct responding and making the scene of the accident as well.
At one point during the pursuit the suspect may have tossed a handgun and officers performed an “extensive search”. It’s unknown if that weapon has been recovered. The pursuit was being monitored by Detroit Police supervisors.
UPDATE: Suspect in the police pursuit has been named as 25-year-old, Johnathon Miller.

Detroit DEMS Medic 4 arrived on scene and conveyed the victim to the hospital where he eventually succumbed to his injuries.
Detroit Police closed streets and rerouted traffic in order to secure the crime scene.

The vehicle was described as an older model Chevrolet Impala, silver in color with “limo style” window tinting and a sunroof. The vehicle was also said to have front end damage and a shattered windshield. The driver of the vehicle was described as a white male by witnesses. They were unable to provide further information. The vehicle was said to have been driving erratically in the downtown area prior to the hit & run. Detroit Police continue to search for both the vehicle and driver.
