Detroit Firefighters & Detroit EMS Medics Attacked On Detroit’s West Side

Detroit Fire’s Engine 34 & DEMS Medic 1 Attacked


Detroit’s West Side 4:06PM July 18 2021: Detroit Fire’s Engine 34 and DEMS Medic 1 were attacked while on a medical aid run in the 8100 block of American Sunday afternoon.



4:06 PM – Detroit Fire’s Engine 34 was dispatched to the 8100 block of American as MFR (Medical First Response) for a 53/54 year old female with trouble breathing. DEMS Medic 1 was also dispatched to the scene at the same time.

4:09 PM – Detroit Fire’s Engine 34 arrives on scene, asking for DEMS Medic ETA on scene shortly afterward.

4:12 PM – DEMS Medic 1 arrives on scene.

4:14 PM – Detroit Fire’s Engine 34 and DEMS Medic 1 called out a Code 1000 (Emergency) at 4:14PM, calling for Detroit Police to the scene due to an attack by citizens on first responders. DFD’s Senior Chief 203 was notified and called for a Box Alarm to the scene at 4:15PM. Detroit Fire’s Engine 42, Squad 4, Ladder Truck 22 and Battalion Chief 2 were dispatched to the box.

4:17 PM – Scouts from DPD’s 2nd Precinct arrive on scene, according to Detroit Fire dispatch.

DEMS Medic 9 and DEMS Medic 19 were also dispatched to the scene.

5:15 PM – DEMS Medic 9 conveyed 2 citizens to Henry Ford Hospital Code 2 with Detroit Police on board.

5:16 PM – DEMS Medic 9 conveyed 1 injured EMT to Henry Ford, Code 3. It appears as if the injuries to first responders are non life threatening.

Detroit Fire Chief Accused Of OWI, Crashing While Responding To Dwelling Fire

Detroit’s West Side: A Detroit Fire Chief is accused of operating while intoxicated and crashing his city vehicle while responding to a dwelling fire on Detroit’s west side. At 1:12AM, Detroit Fire’s 5th Battalion were dispatched to a dwelling fire at Barton & Livernois. It appears, according to dispatch audio, as if DFD’s dispatch had trouble establishing contact with Chief 5. Eventually, contact was made and Chief 5 acknowledge the box alarm.

Detroit Fire’s dispatch did lose communications again and it was learned Chief 5 was involved in an MVC at the John C Lodge Freeway & W Grand Blvd.

Battalion Chief 7 was dispatched to the fire scene while Ladder Truck 22 took incident command. Chief 7 was eventually cancelled by Ladder Truck 22 when the fire was under control.

Detroit Fire’s Battalion Chief 1 and DFD’s Senior Chief 203 responded to the accident scene on the Lodge. No one appears to have been injured.

The incident is under investigation.

Dispatch Audio: Body Found On West Side Fire Scene

Detroit’s West Side: Detroit Fire’s 1st Battalion responded to 2511 Taylor x Linwood for a dwelling fire Wednesday evening at 8:27PM.



Companies on fire scene: Battalion Chief 1, Engines 40, 35, 17 Ladder Truck 17, Squad 2 and DEMS Medic 1.

Companies on scene found a DOS on scene. It’s unknown if the deceased is in conjunction with the fire or other circumstances. DPD’s 10th Precinct investigating.

Update 10:52PM 1.20.2021: DPD is now investigating this as an arson. DPD Evidence Techs have been dispatched to process the scene.

Full Dispatch Audio: House Fire & Explosion In NW Detroit Claims 2 Lives

NW Detroit: Detroit Fire responded to reports of a dwelling fire and explosion at 20413 Tracey Monday afternoon at 1:50PM. Detroit Fire reports 2 adults were killed in the fire. DFD companies went into search and rescue operations on arrival. Engine 30 was first on the scene and immediately starting stretching hose on the fire.



Detroit Fire Companies on Fire Scene: Battalion Chief 4, Engines 40, 30, 53, 44, Ladder Truck 25, Squad 1, Deputy Chief 201, Senior Chief 203, DEMS Medic 22, DPD Arson Cars 801 & 803. DEMS Medic 22 and DEMS Supervisor 1105. Officers from the DPD’s 12th Precinct also responded to the fire scene.

Christmas Morning Fire On Detroit’s East Side Claims 2 Children’s Lives

2 Children Killed On Helen St

Detroit’s East Side: Detroit Police Scouts reported a working dwelling fire early this morning around 8:45AM. Scouts from the 11th Precinct reported they had a dwelling fire in the 20000 block of Helen St x Outer Dr.

Officers on scene reported they had 3 civilians, a mother and 2 children outside the residence and 2 children were still inside the residence. Officers attempted to enter but were unable due to the flames.

Detroit Fire’s 9th Battalion was dispatched to the scene along with Detroit EMS medics.

Arriving companies were notified 2 children were unaccounted for and immediately started a search of both floors of the 2 story dwelling. DPD reports indicated at least 1 victim had jumped out of a window to escape the flames.

Companies discovered the children, a 4 year old and a 6 year old, in a room on the 1st floor.

DEMS Medics 16, 14, 15 and DEMS Supervisor 1104 were also dispatched to the fire scene.
