Hunter Takes A Dive Out Of Tree-Stand, Injures Leg

Chesterfield Township, Mi: At approximately 8:30am on Sunday morning (12/23/2018) a 25 year old Shelby Township man called 911 to report that he had fallen from his tree stand while deer hunting. The man stated that he believed he had broken his leg as a result of the fall and that he was incapacitated on the ground at the bottom of the tree. The man was able to provide Chesterfield 911 Dispatchers with his location via GPS on his cell phone.

Dispatchers guided Chesterfield Police and Fire units to the man’s location, where he was ultimately located on State Hunting land south of 25 Mile Road and west of I-94. Police, Fire and Medstar ambulance personnel stabilized the man and conveyed him out of the woods and to a waiting ambulance.

The man was conveyed to McLaren Macomb Hospital where he is currently in surgery with apparent non-life threatening injuries.

First Reported By Motor City 911 On Twitter

Detroit: On 12/23 at approximately 3:00AM troops from the Metro South Post were dispatched to a multi vehicle injury crash on W/B I-94 west of Van Dyke.

Multiple vehicle accident @ WB I-94 @ Concord. DFD/DEMS Medics 13/14/8 responding. Reports of civilians trapped/ejected from vehicles. MSP has closed the freeway according to units on scene. https://t.co/VlOoGbZmDX pic.twitter.com/37wVAZcMJp

— Motor City 911 (@DetroitScanner) December 23, 2018

While heading to the crash troopers observed a car on the shoulder passing stopped traffic at a high rate of speed.

Troopers got behind the vehicle and the suspect vehicle continued to drive on the shoulder. The suspect vehicle eventually stopped once the male driver cleared the stopped traffic. Troopers made contact with the driver. They also observed open alcohol in the vehicle.

Troopers ordered the male driver to exit his vehicle. Troopers attempted to place him under arrest when the driver broke away from the trooper and ran across the freeway through stopped traffic. Troopers tackled the suspect and arrested him without further incident.

The suspect was not injured and was lodged at the Detroit Detention Center. The arresting troopers ankle was severely sprained or broken during the arrest. He was transported from the scene by DFD EMS to a local hospital.

UPDATE: The trooper was admitted to a local hospital and will require surgery. He will be off work for at least three months. The suspect has been identified as a 24 year old male from Roseville.

Detroit – December 18 2018 – 3:37pm: Detroit DPS Police and Detroit Police officers from the 12th Precinct responded to reports of shots fired at Mumford High School on Detroit’s west side Tuesday afternoon.

Officers on scene were told that shots were fired in or near the school by 3 youths, last seen on W McNichols and Ilene, moving in and out of restaurants in the area.

Detroit police officers performed a canvass of the area with unknown results.

No mention of this incident in the local press. As you can imagine, anywhere else in the world this would have forced the media into a frenzy, helicopters and a visit from the governor…

Shootings aren’t unusual in Detroit, maybe that’s the reason why its been ignored. It’s Detroit man, shit happens everyday. It’s just another shooting.

We’re doomed.

Welcome to Detroit.

Dispatch Audio: Detroit EMS Conveys 1 Year Old To Sinai-Grace Hospital, Possible Opioid Overdose

December 18, 2018 By Motor City 911

Detroit’s West Side – December 17 2018 – 8:05PM: A 1 year old child is in the hospital this evening after possibly overdosing on opioids. The child was conveyed from the 9600 block of Coyle to Sinai-Grace Hospital by Detroit EMS in critical condition.

At 8:05 PM on Monday, Detroit EMS dispatched DEMS Medic 26 to the 9600 block of Coyle on reports a 1 year old child was having difficulty breathing, coded as cardiac arrest. Detroit Fire’s Engine 55 was also dispatched.

At 8:08PM. both DEMS Medic 26 and Detroit Fire’s Engine 55 were cancelled when the 911 callers opted for private transport rather than Detroit EMS. Both units then went back into service.

At 8:16PM, Detroit EMS dispatched Medic 25 to the 9600 block of Coyle with once again, Detroit Fire’s Engine 55. This time the call was dispatched as a 1 year old child in possible cardiac arrest/not breathing.

At 8:23PM, DEMS Medic 25 & Detroit Fire’s Engine 55 conveyed the child to Sinai-Grace Hospital. DEMS Medic 25 notified there was no parent on board and that the child was possibly suffering from an opioid overdose. The medic on board also requested Detroit Police be notified due to drugs being involved. A Detroit EMS supervisor was also requested.

Detroit Police officers from the 2nd Precinct responded to Sinai-Grace and investigated. A unit at Sinai-Grace notified dispatch that although a large number of people were at the scene on Coyle, no one came forward as the child’s parent.

DPD’s 2nd Precinct also sent units to the 9600 block of Coyle to secure the scene. Detroit evidence technicians were also dispatched to Sinai-Grace for the collection of evidence for a case of ‘critical child abuse’.

Late Monday evening, units were being assembled to make a possible arrest in the case.

The child’s last transmitted condition was critical and in cardiac arrest.

No further information is available.

Below is audio of Detroit EMS, Detroit Fire and Detroit Police at the time of the incident. The first part of this audio is the call that was cancelled after being dispatched. The second set of transmissions from Detroit EMS & Detroit Fire is the completed call for assistance. The remaining transmissions are those of the Detroit Police Department.
