Felonious Assault I-94 Freeway

Possible Shots Fired-No Injuries

Michigan State Police – January 26: The Detroit Regional Communication Center received a delayed report of a felonious assault that allegedly occurred on the eastbound I-94 between Cadieux Rd & Vernier Rd at approximately 3:00 p.m.

Following the incident, the caller drove to his residence in northern Macomb County.

Preliminary Investigation:
Troopers from the Metro North Post responded to the caller’s home and conducted an interview. The victim stated he was traveling eastbound on I-94 in the left lane when he observed a dark-colored sedan traveling in the center lane. As the vehicles drove alongside one another, the driver of the dark-colored vehicle was observed waving his arms. Shortly afterward, the victim reported hearing a gunshot.

As a result, eastbound I-94 at Cadieux was temporarily closed for a shell casing search.

The investigation is ongoing.

Michigan State Police Investigating Another Freeway Shooting

Shots Fired on the 696 In Southfield

Location: E/B I-696 near Evergreen Ave. Southfield:

The Detroit Regional Communication Center received calls of a possible freeway shooting on I 696.  The caller, a 64-year-old male from Southfield, stated he was shot at by the driver of a black SUV between Evergreen Ave. and Southfield Rd. 

Further details revealed this may have been the result of a road rage incident, as a female passenger in the suspect vehicle had thrown a blue water bottle at the callers vehicle prior to the shooting. 

The suspect vehicle ultimately exited the freeway at Coolidge Ave. from E/B I696 when the victim lost sight of them.  The callers vehicle, a Ford F-250 Super Duty, was struck once in the passenger side rear door.  The bullet was retrieved from the vehicle.  There were no reported injuries. The freeway was closed for an evidence search. Investigation is on going.

Michigan State Police Investigate Another Freeway Shooting

Shots Fired On The Southbound I-75 At Outer Dr



Detroit’s SW Side 3:15PM 7.26.24: Michigan State Police are investigating a shooting on the I-75 @ Outer Dr that occurred on Friday afternoon around 3:15PM.

According to the MSP, 2 vehicles became involved in a “rolling argument” with each other over driving techniques apparently. During this “rolling argument”, one of the drivers whipped out a gun and fired on the other, striking the other’s vehicle. No one was injured but the southbound lanes of the freeway were closed while troopers searched for evidence.

And so it goes…

Freeway Shooting In Dearborn Injures One

SB M39 @ Oakwood In Dearborn

Dearborn, Michigan 9:10PM March 15 2022: Via Michigan State Police – Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was traveling in the center lane of the southbound M39 near Oakwood in a Dodge Charger when he was shot.

The suspect vehicle; a white in color Chrysler, pulled alongside the victim’s vehicle on the driver’s side and the passenger started shooting.

Detroit Police located the victim at Plymouth & Archdale in the City of Detroit.

The victim sustained a minor graze wound to his right arm and was conveyed to Beaumont Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn by Rapid Response Medic 51.

The victim’s vehicle was also struck and a firearm was later recovered from inside the victim’s vehicle.

A canvas for evidence was performed and troopers are interviewing the victim. A motive has not been established. Anyone with information is asked to call the Metro South Post at 734.287.5000.

Freeway Shooting on the Westbound I-96 & Outer Drive Express Lanes

Road Rage Shooting Wounds 1

Freeway Shooting: 11:40PM July 27 2021: Detroit Police, Detroit Fire’s Engine 57 and DEMS Medic 4 responded to reports of a shooting on the westbound I-96 & Telegraph at around 11:40PM Tuesday evening. Dispatch audio suggested someone was shot in a burgundy Chevrolet Tahoe. Redford PD arrived on the scene first, followed by Detroit Fire’s Engine 57; acting as MFR, medical first response, for Detroit first responders. Engine 57 reported that Redford PD had loaded up the patient and transported them to a local hospital.

Update via Michigan State Police:

Road Rage Shooting: On 07/27 at approximately 11:40PM, the Detroit Police Department received a 911 call from the male victim of a freeway shooting where the caller advised he was shot. The call then dropped. The caller did not answer when the dispatcher called back.

roopers and local police were sent to the area the victim said to look for the caller. He was found by Redford PD at Schoolcraft and Telegraph Road and they transported the victim to the hospital.

The victim stated the shooting occurred on the express lanes of W I-96 near Outer Drive after he was involved in a road rage incident with the suspect. The free way was shut down to search for evidence. Anyone with information can call 734.287.5000. Pends further investigation.
