Police: Multiple People Shot On Detroit’s Northwest Side

Triple Shooting In Northwest Detroit, At Least 1 Dead


Dispatch Audio Ashton Shooting Scene

Detroit – 9:10PM April 5 2017: Detroit police officers from the 11th Precinct were dispatched to the 6800 block of Ashton between Whitlock & W Warren on reports of shots fired into a dwelling.

911 dispatchers were told that shots had been fired into a known “drug-house” and that children may be present.

Additional reports state a small dark colored SUV was seen leaving the area following the shooting.

Detroit Fire’s Engine 55, Medic 22 and DEMS Medic 4 were dispatched to the scene. Engine 55 was advised by Central Dispatch that 2 people had been shot at the scene.

Later, an 11th Precinct Scout reported 3 males had been shot and there was at least 1 fatality.

Detroit evidence techs have been directed to the scene by Detroit Homicide.

Sources: The 3 victims may have been shot while sitting in a vehicle and a dwelling had absolutely nothing to do with the shooting. Sources also state the shooting occurred 3 blocks south of the actual shooting scene, so there’s that.

Best wait until the DPD sort through the mess.

Missing Detroit Man’s Body 1 Of 2 Found After House Fire

Body Discovered On Fire Scene Is Missing Detroit Man

Detroit’s West Side-6th Precinct: 1 of 2 bodies found last night by companies of the Detroit Fire Department following a small fire on Detroit’s west side has been identified.

The Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office says the man was identified as 26-year-old Andy Maldonado of Detroit.

Update: Mariah Rasnick was identified as the other body discovered. She died of multiple gunshot wounds. Gang activity may be a contributing factors in the death of Maldonado & Rasnick.

Detroit Fire’s 2nd Battalion found the 2 bodies after extinguishing a small fire at a vacant dwelling  on Mettetal Street.

Family members say Maldonado and his girlfriend Mariah Rasnick went missing last week. They searched for them on their own, but did not file a missing persons report.

Family members turned to social media asking for help finding them. They said the couple had last been seen on Saturday.  Someone set their apartment at Central and Lane in Southwest Detroit on fire early Sunday morning. Their burned out van was found nearby. (via @WXYZ)

Both bodies were found to be shot. The second body, that belonging to a female, has not been identified.

Police: Woman Fatally Shot On Detroit’s West Side

Fatal Shooting On Detroit’s West Side

Detroit-Sunday March 26 2017: Police from the 6th Precinct are reporting a 32 year old woman was fatally shot while sitting in a vehicle in the 7300 block of Penrod, north of W Warren.

Police said she and a passenger were inside a vehicle when a suspect(s) began firing shots into the vehicle, striking her in the head.

The other person inside the vehicle wasn’t struck.

Police describe the suspect vehicle as a dark SUV, last seen going southbound on Penrod towards W. Warren.

Multiple People Shot At Steve’s Soul Food In Detroit’s West Side

Update: Detroit Police identify the dead 16 year old as the grandson of a recently retired DPD Captain.

West Detroit-11:33PM Saturday March 25 2017: Detroit Police were called to Steve’s Soul Food for reports of shots fired inside and outside of a building that houses Steve’s Soul Food and a banquet hall.

The banquet hall, which occupies the top floor of the building, was the scene of an argument that spilled outside.

10th Precinct scouts arrived on the scene and discovered multiple people shot, some still on scene and some privately conveyed to local hospitals.

Initial radio transmissions stated at least 1 female victim was suffering from a gunshot wound to the foot.

Upon further investigation, more victims were discovered.

A DPD Scout on the scene mentioned at least 1 k-type, DPD cop-speak for fatal, which proved to be false at the time.

The suspected shooter was described as a light skin black male, 18-20 years old, 5′ 8″ in height, short hair, small build, wearing jeans, a red shirt, burgundy jacket and was driving a red or maroon Dodge Challenger. He was armed with a blue steel automatic handgun.

The shooting took place after an argument between two groups of teens.

“There was two groups of kids. There was some sort of argument. One of the groups pulled out firearms and shot the other group,” said officer Jennifer Moreno, a police spokeswoman.

1 victim was transported by DEMS Medic 48 to Henry Ford Hospital and 1 victim was privately conveyed to Henry Ford.

2 victims were privately conveyed to Detroit Receiving Hospital.

Another victim, described as a 17 year old female, was privately conveyed to Children’s Hospital.

1 victim, a 16 year old male listed in extremely critical condition has since died.

1 victim was also described as the son of a “family member”, meaning a member of the Detroit Police Department.

Police say he’s the grandson of a recently retired Detroit Police Captain.

West Detroit Home Invasion Turns Deadly

Detroit’s West Side 08:03 AM EST- 3rd Precinct – March 21 2017: A home invasion turned deadly on Tuesday morning when gunfire erupted, killing 1 male.

A suspect, the armed ex-boyfriend of a resident in the apartment, kicked in the door @ 3909 Wabash according to police and was shot by the girlfriend’s brother.

The 21 year old intruder expired at the scene. Detroit EMS was on scene and pronounced.
