Body Discovered On Fire Scene Is Missing Detroit Man

Detroit’s West Side-6th Precinct: 1 of 2 bodies found last night by companies of the Detroit Fire Department following a small fire on Detroit’s west side has been identified.
The Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office says the man was identified as 26-year-old Andy Maldonado of Detroit.
Update: Mariah Rasnick was identified as the other body discovered. She died of multiple gunshot wounds. Gang activity may be a contributing factors in the death of Maldonado & Rasnick.
Detroit Fire’s 2nd Battalion found the 2 bodies after extinguishing a small fire at a vacant dwelling on Mettetal Street.
Family members say Maldonado and his girlfriend Mariah Rasnick went missing last week. They searched for them on their own, but did not file a missing persons report.
Family members turned to social media asking for help finding them. They said the couple had last been seen on Saturday. Someone set their apartment at Central and Lane in Southwest Detroit on fire early Sunday morning. Their burned out van was found nearby. (via @WXYZ)

Both bodies were found to be shot. The second body, that belonging to a female, has not been identified.
