Freeway Shooting: 11:40PM July 27 2021: Detroit Police, Detroit Fire’s Engine 57 and DEMS Medic 4 responded to reports of a shooting on the westbound I-96 & Telegraph at around 11:40PM Tuesday evening. Dispatch audio suggested someone was shot in a burgundy Chevrolet Tahoe. Redford PD arrived on the scene first, followed by Detroit Fire’s Engine 57; acting as MFR, medical first response, for Detroit first responders. Engine 57 reported that Redford PD had loaded up the patient and transported them to a local hospital.

Road Rage Shooting: On 07/27 at approximately 11:40PM, the Detroit Police Department received a 911 call from the male victim of a freeway shooting where the caller advised he was shot. The call then dropped. The caller did not answer when the dispatcher called back.
roopers and local police were sent to the area the victim said to look for the caller. He was found by Redford PD at Schoolcraft and Telegraph Road and they transported the victim to the hospital.
The victim stated the shooting occurred on the express lanes of W I-96 near Outer Drive after he was involved in a road rage incident with the suspect. The free way was shut down to search for evidence. Anyone with information can call 734.287.5000. Pends further investigation.

DEMS Medic 7 Flagged Down At Joy Rd & Livernois
Detroit’s West Side 4:02PM July 27 2021: Confirmed Shooting – DEMS Medic 7 called in a GSW (shooting) victim at Joy Rd & Livernois. It appears Detroit Medic 7 was flagged down by citizens. Following an investigation by the Detroit Police’s 2nd Precinct, scouts are currently canvassing the area around Ohio & Joy Rd looking for a scene. There is also a second scene at Joy Rd & Northlawn. DPD evidence techs are responding to process both scenes for evidence. Witnesses describe the suspect vehicle as a black Mercedes, last seen northbound on Ohio from Joy Rd.

Dispatch Audio-Video: Detroit Police, Michigan State Police Pursue And Apprehend Murder Suspect On Detroit’s West Side
Detroit’s West Side (10:30PM March 12 2021): DPD’s 6th/2nd Precinct were monitoring a pair of suspects inside a vehicle suspected of being involved in a shooting/shots fired earlier in the area of Fenkell & Outer Dr W. The suspects inside the vehicle pointed a weapon in the direction of officers earlier. The suspect vehicle, a stolen white Dodge Charger with a cover over the license plate, and blacked out took police and troopers on a high speed chase through the west side. The vehicle struck a 6th Precinct scout car at Kentfield & I-96 and crashed. Both were taken into custody, weapon(s) were recovered. The suspects were treated at the scene by Rapid Response Medic 51.No officers were injured. Dispatch audio of the incident is below.

via Michigan State Police: Assist to Detroit Police: On 03/12 at approximately 10 35 PM, troopers overheard on the Detroit Police talk group that a DPD Scout had two subjects point guns at them. DPD advised there were at least two people in the suspect vehicle both armed with pistols. Troopers located the Dodge Charger that matched the description at Evergreen and I-96 running with no lights.
They attempted a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle. Troopers pursued the vehicle until it stopped on a side street. As troopers approached, the suspect driver then fled again.
The suspect ran a stop sign at Kentfield and I 96 service drive striking a DPD unit. Troopers and DPD arrested the two subjects without incident. The vehicle was confirmed stolen and a stolen handgun was recovered from the vehicle. It was also discovered the driver was wanted in connection to a homicide. The suspects were treated for minor injuries on scene. None of the officers were hurt. Pends further investigation.

Dispatch Audio: More Shots Fired At Detroit Police Officers On The West Side
Shots Fired At Pursuing Officers
Detroit’s West Side: The DPD’s 8th Precinct is working another officer involved shooting that occurred earlier Saturday morning on Detroit’s NW side.
The incident started at around 5:15AM at St Marys & Keeler when 8th Precinct scouts witnessed a vehicle strike another. The officers attempted to stop the Buick Le Sabre when someone inside the vehicle started firing shots toward them.
The 8th Precinct Scouts pursued the vehicle until it “cracked up” in the area of Davison & Winthrop. One of the suspects inside the vehicle again brandished a firearm and an officer fired 1-2 rounds at him. According to dispatch audio, officers did take at least 1 person into custody at the scene with at least 2 others escaping on foot. No officers or suspects were injured.
A K9 track led officers to an address on Montrose where they found 1 adult female and 2 juveniles hid in the backyard. A check of the Buick Le Sabre’s registration led officers to another address on Montrose. DPD is at that address still working the incident.
The 8th Precinct is still detaining people at the house on Montrose. It doesn’t appear to have been cleared yet. 10:29AM.

Dispatch Audio: Fatal Shooting On Detroit’s West Side
9100 Block of Ohio
Detroit West Side 9:52PM: Detroit PD’s 2nd Precinct responded to reports of a shooting Saturday night in the 9100 block of Ohio x Dawes. 911 callers reported a 20 year old had been shot in a drive-by shooting. Reports indicate that shots were still being fired on the scene as the call was being taken.
Dispatch audio suggests a white Dodge Charger and an orange Dodge Charger were seen fleeing the scene. Arriving officers discovered 1 GSW victim. DEMS Medic 2 was also dispatched to the scene.
DPD Evidence techs were sent to process the scene of a fatal shooting. No further information at this time.
