Overnight Blotter, Shootings, Stabbings & Major Car Theft In Warren

July 22, 2024 By MC911 Leave a Comment

Early Morning Recap Of Incidents

The first thing that should be mentioned, the search for Melvindale’s Officer Said’s murderer is in full swing. Multiple agencies are involved and it’s only a matter of time before that waste of skin is discovered, dead or alive. I caution people from repeating what they hear in Facebook Groups. My inbox was filled with stuff yesterday, well meaning people looking to fill me in on what’s happening out there, but understand, I don’t report anything unless I can confirm it. The nonsense reported in most GROUPS is just that, nonsense. Repeating false information helps no one so I recommend you use due diligence when believing the crap groups pump out on a daily basis.

The morning was filled with people behaving badly. There were shots fired into occupied dwellings, a shooting scene discovered, or thought to be discovered at Grand River & Evergreen in the 8th Precinct. That shooting was previously reported on the Facebook Page. A male with a GSW to the leg that was privately conveyed to Sinai-Grace Hospital late Sunday evening.

There was a stabbing in the 7700 block of Pitt in SW Detroit around 1:00AM, non fatal but I’m sure it hurt, a lot. DPD’s 4th Precinct is investigating.

Warren PD had a major car theft in their city at the Truck Plant at 8 Mile & Mound. About 10 youths in a stolen Dodge Ram rammed the gates to the lot and stole 15 Jeep Wagoneers. The vehicle used to ram the gate was stolen out of Shelby Township and contained spent shell casings inside. There is tape of the incident and Warren PD continues the investigation. Detroit PD was notified through a BOLO (Be On The Lookout) issued shortly after the incident occurred.

Detroit EMS/EMS & Detroit Fire handled a butt-ton of medical aid runs overnight, as usual. Trouble breathing, chest pains, seizures etc.

Macomb County Sheriff would like to remind you of the dangers you face while ‘Car Surfing’. Young people, typically those whose brains haven’t completely hardened up, have taken to car surfing again. They stand on top of moving vehicle, yelling “YOOK AT ME! YOOK AT ME!” and then they fall off. Some survive, others become a stain on the roadway, having to be scraped off later by unappreciative first responders.

Macomb County Sheriff reports they handled 3 cases of car surfing in the last month:

On June 21, Deputies responded to an incident in a parking lot at 59041 Gratiot Avenue in New
Haven. A juvenile fell from the rooftop of a 2012 Kia Optima operated by another juvenile. The
driver admitted thinking it would be “fun” to drive around with the friend on the roof of the
vehicle. The injured juvenile was transported to a local hospital for a head laceration and
multiple abrasions but was otherwise in stable condition. The juvenile driver was charged with
Reckless Driving.

On July 19, Deputies responded to Iroquois Middle School for an injured juvenile who had fallen
off the rear of a moving Ford Escape operated by another juvenile in the parking lot. The
injured juvenile suffered a skull fracture and brain bleed; but as of this morning is in stable
condition. The juvenile driver was subsequently lodged for OWI causing serious injury and
reckless driving.

On July 21, Deputies responded to Romeo High School for an injured juvenile. The juvenile fell
from the roof of a 2017 Dodge Challenger operated by another juvenile in the parking lot. The driver admitted to driving while his friends were “Car Surfing”. The injured juvenile suffered injuries to his head and ear and was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. The juvenile driver was cited for Reckless Driving.

Macomb County Sheriff would also like to remind the knuckleheads who drive these vehicles while their stupid friends ‘surf’:

Drivers can face serious criminal charges including:
Reckless Driving, Various Seatbelt Violations (depending on age of passengers),
Permitting Person to Hang On/Attach Themselves to the Outside of Vehicle, Permitted
Passenger to Ride in an Unsafe Manner, Reckless Endangerment, Third Degree Assault,
Vehicular Assault, Vehicular Homicide.

Fun yeah?

On the Michigan State Police front:

Grand Traverse County: On July 18th, Troopers from the Traverse City Post busted ring of thieves and recovered stolen motorcycles, ATVs, and tools. The bust was made possible through investigations, community social media posts and anonymous tips from the public. Well done public. The 2 suspects were identified in less than 3 hours.

Troopers, through a series of traffic stops, troopers were able to gather information leading them to an a storage unit in Acme Township where they recovered 2 stolen motorcycles, multiple stolen tools, a utility trailer, a go cart and drugs, specifically meth…big surprise there. 3 search warrants were issued for additional locations. More stolen items were recovered from addresses associated with those arrested.

The two male suspects, a 38yo male and a 40yo male from Green Lake Township were placed under arrest for possession of methamphetamine, two counts of larceny of a motor vehicle, conducting criminal enterprise +++.
