Dispatch Audio: Fatal Shooting on Detroit’s west side, again.

Fatal Shooting – Pierson & Tireman

Detroit’s West Side (3:42PM): Scouts from DPD’s 6th Precinct were dispatched to Tireman & Pierson on reports of several shots being fired and a person down in a driveway. Units were urged to use caution as multiple 911 calls were being received.

Officer arriving on scene found 1 person down in a driveway with a GSW to the head, DEMS Medic 25 arrived and pronounced the victim deceased.

DPD broadcast information on a blue Ford pickup leaving the scene of the shooting. Later transmissions identified a newer model blue Dodge Ram…

Dispatch Audio: DEMS Medic 17 finds 2 dead in apparent murder-suicide on Detroit’s west side

2 Dead In Possible Murder-Suicide

Detroit’s West Side (9:45AM): Detroit EMS Medic 17 was notified by citizens that a shooting had taken place at the Mobil Gas Station, across from Medic 17’s quarters @ Fenkell & Greenfield.

Upon arrival, DEMS Medic 17 discovered 2 people had been shot and requested a 2nd medic rig to the scene. That request was canceled when Medic 17 notified dispatch that the 2 shooting victims were deceased. DEMS Medic 17 requested DPD to the scene and was given an estimated 5 minute arrival time for scouts.

Moments earlier, DPD was notified of a 911 call stating that someone in the Mobil Gas Station was requesting a unit to the location stating that “someone was trying to kill him and he has a weapon in his pocket, the weapon though can’t be seen.” It’s unknown if the caller is talking about himself or someone else.

DPD is investigating, closing down streets, dealing with large crowds appearing and attempting to sort the situation out. DPD is stating that this was a random shooting by the gunman who, after shooting down another person, committed suicide.

The DPD is still dealing with crowd control issues at the time of this writing.

Fatal Shooting on Detroit’s west side, Puritan & Indiana

Man Shot & Killed Monday Morning

Detroit’s West Side (4:45AM): DPD’s 12th Precinct responded to reports of an accident early Monday morning @ Puritan & Indiana. A scout from the 12th was dispatched following a 911 call reporting an accident in front of the caller’s address. The caller stated someone had crashed into their vehicle and were still on scene.

Arriving officers discovered the victim inside the vehicle and at that time, reported the victim was bleeding from the head, ordering Detroit EMS to the scene. Further investigation revealed the victim had been shot.

Detroit EMS Medic 3 arrived and pronounced the victim deceased on scene (Code 7). The description of the vehicle and information on the victim/shooter(s) was not given. There were no shots fired calls in the area at the time. There are a number of Green Light locations in the area with video surveillance. Detroit Police evidence/forensic technicians arrived shortly afterward to process the scene.

Detroit Police are investigating.

Fatal Shooting on Detroit’s SW side

26 year old male shot & killed

Detroit’s SW Side: Detroit Police officers from the 4th Precinct responded to a disturbance in the 800 block of Casgrain early Saturday morning around 2:45am. The call was soon upgraded to include shots being fired at the location.

Arriving officers discovered the 26 year old male with a GSW and ordered Detroit EMS.

Detroit Fire’s Engine 27, DEMS Medic 11 & DEMS Captain 1103 were dispatched to the scene. The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene by DEMS Captain 1103.

According to dispatch audio, the DPD is looking for a dark Chevy Impala occupied by 2 Black males and a Hispanic female, last seen in the area of Livernois & Lafayette.

Gunfire grazes child on Detroit’s east side

Detroit’s East Side: Earlier this morning, at around 1:30AM, Detroit’s 9th Precinct responded to reports of shots fired into an occupied dwelling @ Lappin & Rex.

Upon arrival, officers found a 7 year old child had been grazed by a bullet fired into the occupied dwelling. Initially, according to dispatch audio, the parents/guardians/adults responsible for the 7 year old child refused medical aid by Detroit EMS. Also according to dispatch audio, scouts from the 9th Precinct would have none of that and ordered DEMS anyway.

DEMS Medic 15 and DEMS Supervisor 1104 made the scene. The child was apparently treated on the scene by Medic 15.

The shooter, well, a description was mentioned by someone else but hasn’t been confirmed by the DPD. Word has it the shots were fired by someone standing across the street from the house.
