Dispatch Audio: Shots Fired At Martin Luther King Jr High School On Detroit’s East Side

Detroit’s East Side – 3:28PM Jun 10 2019: Detroit Police’s 7th Precinct received a 911 call stating that shots had been fired at Martin Luther King Jr High School, 3200 E Lafayette, on Detroit’s east side. The caller reported 10 shots being fired.

Initial reports indicated the vehicle was a gray Nissan with a plate of ECB 6857. Those reports were changed following witness interviews, the vehicle was actually a 2019 gray Kia Forte, last seen westbound on Lafayette.

Shortly afterward, a DPD unit picked the vehicle up on the NB I-75 @ Warren. The unit followed the vehicle occupied by 4 subjects, up the NB I-75 while waiting for backup. Detroit Police units staged themselves at different locations along the I-75.

The vehicle was stopped on the I-75 just north of the Davison, 4 were taken into custody.

Legends Nightclub @ 415 E Congress, Downtown Detroit

Downtown Detroit: Detroit Police were called to the area around Greektown Casino early this morning at around 2:15AM on reports of someone with a gun. The call into the 911 Dispatch Center was made from a burnt out cell phone, the exact location wasn’t immediately available and was centered around the Greektown area of downtown Detroit.

While DPD units checked the area, the Detroit Police were notified of a shooting at 415 E Congress, Legends Nightclub.

On Arrival, DPD Scouts from the downtown services unit discovered 2 victims at Legends, with a third privately conveyed to Detroit Receiving Hospital @ 4201 St Antoine.

Further investigation revealed 3 had been shot, 1 fatal and 2 with serious injuries. All victims were taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital, 2 by DEMS Medic 6.

Dispatch Audio: Detroit Police & Michigan State Police Pursuit Through SW Detroit, Suspect Shot Dead

1 Suspect Dead, 1 Injured In SW Detroit Pursuit

DETROIT June 3 2019: Detroit Police and Michigan State Police pursued a non-fatal shooting suspect earlier today through SW Detroit. 

The pursuit of the gray Dodge Caravan, initiated by the Detroit Police Department @ Junction & Otis on Detroit’s west side, was handed off to the Michigan State Police as the chase wound its way through city streets to the I-75 Freeway.

One of the vehicle’s occupants was a suspect in an earlier non-fatal shooting near Fort & Downing St in SW Detroit.

The suspect struck, according to dispatch tapes, a number of civilian and police vehicles in its bid to escape.

Attempts were made to stop the vehicle by the Michigan State Police with varying success. The pursuit came to an end when MSP Troopers were able to PIT the vehicle at Fort & West End in SW Detroit. Detroit Police and Michigan State Police Troopers fired on the vehicle as it attempted to flee, almost striking an officer in the process. 

Reports indicate a passenger inside the suspect vehicle was shot dead, the driver receiving 2 gunshot wounds to the right arm and 1 gunshot wound to his right leg. Both were conveyed to Detroit Receiving Hospital by Detroit EMS Medics 11 & 9.

Dispatch Audio: Drug Deal Goes Bad, 1 Killed On Detroit’s West Side

DETROIT’S WEST SIDE – One person is dead and another is hospitalized in serious condition after what police describe as a drug deal gone bad.

The Detroit Police were called to the Capitol Liquor Store at around 1:25AM after receiving a call from a female saying her boyfriend had been shot. 

According to the Detroit Police, the two victims were at the Capitol Liquor store to buy narcotics when two gunmen in a white Dodge Caravan pulled up and started shooting. 

A 39 year old man was shot several times and died at the scene. CPR was performed by arriving 2nd Precinct officers. A 34 year old woman was conveyed to the hospital by Detroit EMS Medic 2. 

The suspects then fled south on Schaefer and currently remain at large. Both suspects are described as black men, age 18-20. One is described as having a light complexion and dreadlocks, the other dark skin and wearing all black.

Dispatch Audio: Fiery Crash In St Clair County Kills 1

ONE MAN KILLED, TWO INJURED IN ONE VEHICLE CRASH

(Emmett Township)  A 28 year old Emmett man was killed and two others injured in a one vehicle crash this morning in Emmett Township.

St. Clair County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched shortly after 2:30 to the intersection of Dunnigan Road and Bryce Road.  Upon arrival, they saw the vehicle, a 2009 Cadillac CTS, fully engulfed in flames.  The deceased had been ejected from the vehicle.  Two passengers from the crash were able to escape.

Deputies determined that the vehicle had been eastbound on Dunnigan Road at a high rate of speed, lost control and struck an end guardrail at the corner of Bryce Road.  The car continued through the ditch and struck several trees before stopping.

The two passengers, a 28 year old man from Emmett and a 27 year old Capac man were transported by Tri-Hospital EMS to Lake Huron Medical Center in Port Huron for treatment.  The 28 year old Emmett man was declared dead at the scene of the crash. 

Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.

Emmett Township Fire and Rescue also assisted at the scene of the crash.
