Thursday Night Shooting On Detroit’s West Side

1 Shot At Barlum & Livernois

Shooting 8:00PM 8.1.24: DPD Scouts responded to Barlum & Livernois on Detroit’s west side after reports of a shooting.

Originally, DFD’s Engine 34 (MFR) and DEMS Medic 2 were dispatched to the above on reports of a male assaulted and bleeding from a head wound.

Engine 34 arrived on scene, established incident command and reported the victim had a gunshot wound, and CPR in progress. DPD Scouts locked up the area and are investigating.

Firefighters from Engine 34 are assisting DEMS Medic 2 with transport.

1 shot in the 8900 block of Mansfield x Ellis

Detroit’s West Side 550PM 7.26.24: Shooting: DPD’s 6th Precinct in the 8900 block of Mansfield x Ellis with a shooting. Detroit Fire’s Engine 53 and Rapid Response Medic 51 also responded.

CPR was reportedly in progress before the DFD arrived and continued to the hospital inside Rapid Response Medic 51. A firefighter from Engine 53 accompanied the medics to a local hospital.

DPD Scouts from the 6th Precinct blocked intersections for EMS leading into the scene and en route to the hospital.

Fatal Shooting at Schoolcraft & Littlefield-Child Abduction

UPDATE: The child has been found safe. The DPD continues to search for the vehicle involved.

Detroit’s West Side: Detroit Police 2nd Precinct investigating a fatal shooting at Schoolcraft & Littlefield. The shooting took place at around 1010PM Friday night. Dispatch audio suggests the victim was an 18 year old. Responding units were advised the victim was in cardiac arrest. Detroit Fire’s Engine 53 (MFR), DEMS Medic 2 and DEMS Supervisor 1105 also responded.

DEMS Medic 2 reported the victim was a K-Type (Fatal) on scene.

CHILD ABDUCTION IN CONJUNCTION WITH THIS SHOOTING

Update via DPD: at approximately 10:09 p.m. in the area of Compass and Littlefield, an adult male who was accompanied by a female and a 1-year-old female child were in the area, when four male suspects pulled up in a newer model gray Dodge Durango.

The suspects fired shots striking the male victim, fatally wounding him. The suspects then took the child and fled the scene.

UPDATE: The child has been found safe. The DPD continues to search for the vehicle involved.

The DPD is looking for a newer model gray Dodge Durango, Michigan license plate EAD 187.

1 Shot At 13601 W McNichols Early Saturday Morning

DPD’s 12th Precinct is investigating an early morning shooting at the Amoco Gas Station at 13601 W McNichols. The shooting took place at around 4:00am. There was also a Shot Spotter activation at around the same time in the 13600 block of W McNichols.

A shooting victim was privately conveyed to Sinai-Grace Hospital, just across the street, shortly afterward in a shot up Mercedes Benz. DPD Evidence Techs were dispatched to process the scene. This is a non fatal shooting.

Woman Threatens Man With A Candlestick

Ladies & Gentleman, A First For This Page

Felony Assault: Detroit’s 10th Precinct received reports of a woman threatening to kill a man with a candlestick after he refused to leave her home in the area of W Buena Vista & Petoskey. That of course is a felony assault, but I’ve been doing this for a very, very long time and let’s be honest, there’s a lot of rinse & repeat on this site. This is the first time a candlestick has been used to threaten another. Thank you Ms Candlestick Wielder, the last time I was this excited was when a crock pot was mentioned as a weapon. I so wish you were a butler, seriously.
