Detroit Belle Isle December 11 2016, 8:00AM: Reports of a person in the water on the west side of Belle Isle. This is the dispatch audio from that incident .

Detroit Fire’s Engine 56 rolled up on a hostile scene while assisting Detroit EMS on a medical aid run earlier today.
Engine 56 & Detroit EMS were dispatched to Charest & Emery on Detroit’s north end for a cardiac arrest patient around 12:45PM today.
Upon arriving on the scene, Engine 56 and DEMS Medic 16 were greeted by 5 males creating a hostile environment.
Engine 56 & Medic 16 quickly removed themselves from the situation and staged nearby.
Chief of the Department; Chief 200, requested a battalion chief make the scene with the companies. Battalion Chief 8 responded.
While staged, Battalion Chief 8 discovered that Detroit EMS Supervisor 1103; who had been on scene, saw a male subject armed with a shotgun.
1:10PM: Detroit Police units from the 11th Precinct were dispatched and took control.
Engine 57, Battalion Chief 8 and DEMS Medic 16 returned to the scene with the intention of tending to the patient, but unfortunately too much time had passed and DEMS Medic 16 discovered the patient had died.

A Detroit Police undercover unit spotted and followed a stolen silver Ford F150 at around 4:47am this morning in downtown Detroit.
The UC vehicle followed the vehicle from Monroe Street & St Antoine, onto the northbound I-75, handing over the follow to the Michigan State Police on the northbound M-10 Lodge Freeway.
The chase, if you can call it that, ended up on city streets and terminated in a cloud of dust at Cheyenne & Fenkell.
The suspect’s vehicle kissed a building, bringing some of that building down and trapping the suspect inside the truck.
The suspect had to be cut/sawed/yanked from the vehicle by Detroit Fire’s Squad 5 using JAWS.
It sounds as if the perp is in critical condition, at least.
A couple of civilians may have also been injured but those injuries were described as minor by the Michigan State Trooper on scene.
The audio includes DPD, MSP & DFD dispatch audio.
