Monroe Police Officer Shot, Suspects In Custody-Dispatch Audio

Updated – Monroe, Michigan: At approximately 8:04PM on Saturday, May 24th Monroe Police received reports of a carjacking in the area of 2nd & Winchester Streets. A Monroe PD unit, 3Adam, quickly located the vehicle, a blue Ford Escape, in the parking lot of Taco Bell @ 1300 North 60 Hwy.

When the officer left her unit to make contact, the suspects exited the blue Ford Escape and opened fire, shots were exchanged and the officer was struck at least once.

Arriving officers pursued the suspects a short distance, taking one of them into custody following a taser deployment, according to dispatch audio. The second armed suspect, thought to have been struck by the officers return gunfire, was chased down and taken into custody behind Backyard Solutions on Ternes. The weapon involved in the attack was also recovered. The suspect was not injured.


The officer, Monroe Police Cpl. Renae Peterson, a 16-year veteran of the department was conveyed to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the side/abdomen, then transferred to a hospital in Toledo where she remains in stable condition.


The Suspects

Kordney Antwoine Mcdonald, a 21 year old from the city of Ypsilanti. He was arraigned on (17) felony counts including Assault with Intent to Murder. No bond given.


Kobe Ryan Falls, a 21 year old from the city of Monroe. He was arraigned on (13) felony counts. Bond was set at $750,000.

Dispatch Audio: Non Parental Kidnapping Ends In Use Of Force By MSP

MSP Troopers Avert Suicide By Cop


Taser Deployment/Domestic Assault: On 5/16 at approximately 4:15 PM troopers were dispatched to the Captain J’s @ M-10 FWY & 7 Mile Road for a domestic assault.

The victim stated she was in her vehicle on the John C Lodge Freeway with her ex-boyfriend. While they were driving down the road, the male suspect began physically assaulting the victim. The victim was able to exit onto the service drive at 7 Mile Rd. The suspect forced the victim out of the vehicle and fled southbound from the location. The victim then made her way to the Captain J’s.

The victim stated her 5 year old daughter was in the back of the vehicle when he fled the scene. The victim provided troopers with a possible address for the suspect. Troopers located the victim’s vehicle at the intersection of Strathmoor and Lyndon on Detroit’s west side.

Troopers observed the suspect walking back to the scene where the car was recovered. The suspect had his hand in his pocket and was holding the child. The suspect was yelling he wanted troopers to kill him. A taser was deployed and the suspect was taken into custody.

The child was turned over to her mom at the scene unhurt. The victim had some minor injuries. The suspect was conveyed to the Detroit Detention Center pending prosecutor review.

Dispatch Audio: Another Possible Freeway Shooting On A Metro Detroit Freeway

Michigan State Police Update: Update: After on scene investigation and witness interviews it has been determined that this was NOT A SHOOTING. Troopers have cleared the scene.

Taylor, Michigan: Taylor PD/Fire responded to the Meijers @ 14640 Pardee earlier this evening around 7:45PM on reports of a shooting victim near the pharmacy. The 911 caller reported he had been shot on the I-75 Freeway and driven to the Meijers on Pardee. Dispatch audio suggests the victim was shot in the face with a shotgun. The exact location of the shooting is currently being investigated by the Michigan State Police. The victim was conveyed by Taylor Fire & Rescue, his condition is unknown at this time.

via Michigan State Police: Possible Freeway Shooting: On 5/12 at approximately 8:00 PM. MSP 911 was informed of an alleged shooting that took place on SB I-75 near Schaefer by the Taylor Police Department. The victim then drove to the Meijers on Pardee Rd in Taylor after the incident. The driver was transported by Taylor EMS to a local hospital. Troopers are currently investigating the car and headed to interview the victim to determine what occurred and where. Update: After on scene investigation and witness interviews it has been determined that this was not a shooting. Troopers have cleared the scene.

Road Rage Incident Leads To Another Metro Detroit Freeway Shooting

Possible Road Rage Leads To Shooting

via Michigan State Police:

On 05/10 at 7:25 PM MSP dispatch received a call from a male stating he had been shot and was bleeding. He stated he was on northbound Lodge near the Southfield Freeway.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim and suspect in this incident were traveling northbound on M-10. A witness reported a road rage incident with an unknown black male driving an orange passenger car.

The suspect pulled up along side the victim and shot him as they were traveling down the road. The victim pulled off onto the shoulder of M-10. The victim is about to undergo surgery. The victim is expected to survive his injuries.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Michigan State Police at 248.584.5740.

Special Investigation Investigation: A undercover detectives vehicle was struck by another car on the Southfield Fwy on Monday, May 4th and fled. The vehicle exited the freeway with the detective following behind. The vehicle turned onto a side street and came to an abrupt stop.

The suspect driver exited his vehicle holding a handgun by his side. The female passenger exited the vehicle and requested that this not be called in. The detective identified himself as a police officer and the driver returned to his vehicle and fled the area.

SIS detectives responded to investigate and learned the vehicle was rented fraudulently out of Pennsylvania. The suspect vehicle was located in the Belleville area where the driver was attempting to get the vehicle fixed.

Detectives were able to arrest the two occupants without incident on May 5th. Detectives seized a handgun, multiple MI identification cards and credit cards from inside the vehicle.

The male subject was lodged and is pending charges from Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.

Omar Odale Brockman Jr, 18 years old from Detroit, was charged with five counts (CCW, felonious assault, failure to stop at scene of property damage accident, reckless driving and brandishing a firearm in public) in 36th DC. He was given $100,000 10% cash bond.
