Dispatch Audio: 5 Dead & 4 Injured In Deadly Detroit Blaze

UPDATE: Suspect In Custody

Detroit: Dispatch audio from today’s multiple alarm on Detroit’s east side. A fire broke out earlier today at around 1:30PM @ 10521 Whittier.

Battalion Chief 9 and the 9th Battalion were dispatched to Whittier & Beaconsfield on reports of a dwelling fire. Engine 58 made the scene and started putting water on the fire (stretching).

Battalion Chief 9 requested a 2nd alarm @ 1:37PM. There were reports of trapped civilians with some civilians “jumping from windows”. Detroit EMS was also dispatched to the fire scene.

Companies assigned to the multiple alarm fire scene:

Battalion Chief 9, Battalion Chief 1, Senior Chief 203, Chief of Department 200, Deputy Chief 201, Fire Marshall 608, Detroit Police Arson Cars 801 & 809, Engines 41, 46, 50, 58, Highland Park Engine 1, Ladder Trucks 17, 18, 23, Squads 2, 3 & 6. Multiple Detroit Medic Units were also on scene. 2 medics transported the injured to the hospital with Medic’s 24 & 12 remaining on scene for standby.

Multiple fatalities were recorded. At last count there were 5 fatalities and 4 injured.

Detroit Police evidence techs were also dispatched to the scene for a “fatal arson” scene. DPD did take a person of interest into custody following the fire, later arrested for the arson.

DISPATCH AUDIO: Fire & Explosion At Detroit Bus Terminal

Detroit Department Of Transportation Terminal Fire

Detroit January 13 2017: Detroit Fire Department fought an early morning blaze at the DDOT Bus Terminal @ 10 Lillibridge/5149 St Jean on Detroit’s east side, Friday.

Engine 46 was called to the facilities Bay B for a bus fire and quickly asked for more companies. A commercial box was called and the 9th & 1st Battalions responded.

Commercial Box Companies:
C9-operations C1-safety Engine9, Engine 50, Engine 46, Engine 58, Ladder Truck 20, Ladder Truck 6, Ladder Truck 23, Squad 2, Squad 3 & Detroit EMS (2).

A second alarm was called at 0149AM following explosions on the scene.

2nd Alarm Companies:
Senior Chief 203 and Engines 17, 60 & Ladder Truck 7.

Detroit Police Arson Car 811 and Fire Marshal 602/608 also responded.

The Incident Commander reported 6 Bays were reported fully involved and collapsing.

Senior Chief 203 reported the structure was 300×500. The fire scene collapse area was 30x75x100 and companies were taking a defensive posture.

A total of 6 bays were destroyed with approximately 8 vehicles.

Shooting At Man Dee’s Jazz Cafe On Conant & E McNichols


Detroit – Hamtramck – January 8 2017: Shooting at Man Dee’s Jazz Cafe, 17132 Conant St in Hamtramck on Sunday in the early morning hours.

A subject was brought into Sinai-Grace Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound.

Responding officer’s said witnesses reported a man entering Man Dee’s and opening fire with an “automatic weapon”. Other information provided said the shooting occurred in the rear parking lot.

The victims condition is unknown.

No further information at this time.

2 Dead In Detroit Triple Shooting

2 Dead In Detroit Triple Shooting – Derby & Remington

Detroit | Highland Park – January 8 2017: 3 people were shot Sunday evening on Detroit’s north end.

Detroit Police units from the 12th Precinct were called to the 20000 block of Derby at around 9:40pm on reports of a person shot.

DPD Officers noted that the address given was the same as a previous shooting where officers were shot at on November 30 2016.

Arriving units found 3 shot inside the home and described at least 1 suffering a GSW to the head. Detroit EMS pronounced 1 dead on the scene.

A second victim died at Detroit Receiving Hospital (DRH). The third victim suffered gunshot wounds to his left leg.

It’s believed at least 1 of the victims was conveyed by DPD officers to DRH.

Police say the shooter, described as a black male, skinny, 160lbs and armed with a blue steel automatic, walked into the house and asked “Where’s the dope?”, then started firing, hitting the 3 victims.

The suspect was last seen heading west on Remington from Derby.

Man Sitting In Car On Detroit’s East Side Shot Dead

Northeast Detroit – DPD 9th Precinct: Units of the 9th Precinct & Detroit Fire’s Engine 60 responded to this shooting on Pelkey at around 5:30pm Friday night, 6 January 2017. Detroit EMS also responded to the scene.

Fatal Shooting In Northeast Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) – Authorities in Detroit are hunting a killer after a man was shot dead while sitting in a car on the city’s east side.

The incident happened Friday night on Pelkey Street. The 24-year-old victim was sitting in his 1999 Ford Escort, which was parked in front of a home, when a man walked up to the driver’s side window and began firing.

The victim tried to drive away from the scene, but died from his injuries. The suspect fled on foot immediately after the shooting.

The suspect, believed to be in his 20s, remains at large and is to be considered armed and dangerous. He was last seen wearing a black and white checkered shirt and black sweat pants. He was armed with a chrome-colored handgun.

At this point, police haven’t yet said if the shooting was random or if the victim was targeted.
