
Detroit Department Of Transportation Terminal Fire
Detroit January 13 2017: Detroit Fire Department fought an early morning blaze at the DDOT Bus Terminal @ 10 Lillibridge/5149 St Jean on Detroit’s east side, Friday.
Engine 46 was called to the facilities Bay B for a bus fire and quickly asked for more companies. A commercial box was called and the 9th & 1st Battalions responded.
Commercial Box Companies:
C9-operations C1-safety Engine9, Engine 50, Engine 46, Engine 58, Ladder Truck 20, Ladder Truck 6, Ladder Truck 23, Squad 2, Squad 3 & Detroit EMS (2).
A second alarm was called at 0149AM following explosions on the scene.
2nd Alarm Companies:
Senior Chief 203 and Engines 17, 60 & Ladder Truck 7.
Detroit Police Arson Car 811 and Fire Marshal 602/608 also responded.
The Incident Commander reported 6 Bays were reported fully involved and collapsing.
Senior Chief 203 reported the structure was 300×500. The fire scene collapse area was 30x75x100 and companies were taking a defensive posture.
A total of 6 bays were destroyed with approximately 8 vehicles.
