Detroit’s NE – 1150PM July 23 2021: A DPD 9th Precinct officer called out shots fired at officers in the 11300 block of Rowe at around 11:46PM according to dispatch audio. According to dispatch audio, at least 1 officer returned fire and struck the shooter. The suspect has been taken into custody, no officers were injured in the shooting.

Overnight Incidents In Detroit: July 14 2021-Fatal Shooting, Shots Fired, Angry People

Early Morning Incidents In The City of Detroit-7/14/21


Detroit-July 14 2021: The following incidents were captured on overnight dispatch audio. Dispatch audio is always subject to change, further investigation by police often results in an entirely different incident, know that.



1244AM: Shots Fired: 9200 block of Yorkshire Rd, Shot Spotter detected shots coming from behind home.

0134AM: 911 caller reports about 30+ shots in the 11400 block of Rutland St. DPD Scouts have found both handgun and rifle casings in the street. This incident is in conjunction with the below fatal shooting on Plymouth.

Confirmed Fatal Shooting-NW Detroit


0135AM: Confirmed Fatal Shooting: 911 caller reports someone shot at 17040 Plymouth, Dolla Bills Gentleman’s Club. DPD Scouts were on scene and reported a large crowd, attempted at the time to gather information on how many people had gunshot wounds. DEMS Medic 17 was dispatched to the scene and advised by dispatch of possible multiple people with gunshot wounds. DEMS Medic 2 and DEMS Supervisor 1105 was also dispatched to the scene. DEMS Medic 17 cancelled DEMS Medic 2 with the discovery of only 1 GSW victim. A man in his 20s was struck multiple times. DEMS Medic 17 declared the victim deceased on the scene at 0151AM. The shooting appears to be a drive by and the victim was struck in the parking lot. DPD looking for a dark colored SUV and 2 suspects. DPD’s 6th Precinct is investigating.


0139AM: Privately conveyed stabbing victim at Sinai-Grace, possible scene in the 100 block of Louise in Highland Park. Victim may actually a suspect in a felony assault in the area.

0250AM: Shots Fired: DPD’s 5th Precinct investigating shots fired into an occupied dwelling in the 6100 block of Neff. No one was injured according to the DPD scout on scene.

0318AM: Shots Fired: 911 caller reports shots being fired in the 660 block of S Green St. Female caller reports a shooting at the location. 4th Precinct.

0334AM: Shots Fired: Shot Spotter detected shots being fired in the area of 14900 block of Faircrest St, 4 shots fired. South of Faircrest on Queen.

0402AM: Shots Fired: Shot Spotter detected 3 shots fired in the 10200 block of Whittier, street in front of residence.

0420AM: Shots Fired: Shot Spotter detected 4 shots fired in the 15200 block of Edmore, 1 shot fired in front of residence.

0438AM: Shots Fired: Shot Spotter detected shots being fired in the 19300 block of Avon. 1 shot fired in front yard of residence towards the rear of the dwelling.

The above incidents are just a sampling of the runs fielded by the Detroit Police Department in the early morning hours of July 14 2021. Multiple calls for assistance were made through 911. They included; as always, domestic violence, assaults, disturbances etc.

Dispatch Audio: OFFICER DOWN! OFFICER DOWN! DPD Officer Shot On Detroit’s East Side

Officer Shot During Attempt Suicide Run

Update: The officer, according to Detroit Police Chief James Craig, was stabbed several times in the leg in the video below. The subject was obviously armed with a knife. Officers on the scene fired on the suspect and the officer may have been struck by friendly fire. Officer’s on the scene have told me it was one of the most horrific calls they’ve responded to.

Detroit’s East Side 4:39PM 4.20.21: A Detroit Police Officer was shot while responding to an attempt suicide run on Detroit’s east side Tuesday afternoon in the 20400 block of Hannah x 8 Mile. The officers of the 11th Precinct received reports of a man with a knife who had; according to dispatch audio, stabbed himself in the neck. Arriving officers confirmed the stabbing on arrival. At 1639PM a DPD 11th Precinct Scout called out a priority of Officer Down! A DPD 11th Precinct scout, 1151, conveyed the wounded officer to DRH while other units from multiple precincts blocked intersections and onramps leading to Detroit Receiving Hospital.

The perpetrator according to dispatch was soon declared down and is deceased. The conveying DPD 11th Precinct scout made DRH at around 1649PM. Dispatch audio suggests the officer was shot in the right hand.

Dispatch Audio: Felony Assault On A Police Officer, Pursuit and Officer Involved Shooting, Perp Dead on Detroit’s East Side

Perp Shot Dead Following Pursuit

Detroit’s East Side 2:38AM 4.9.21: Early this morning officers were fired on by a suspect in a black 2019 GMC Yukon in the area of McNichols & Ward, the scene of an earlier shooting and motor vehicle accident. Earlier Sunday evening at 10:53PM, dispatch audio revealed 3 people had been non fatally shot at McNichols & Ward, the Facebook post is below. The suspects in that case shot 3 at the scene and in an attempt to flee the area struck another vehicle, killing 1 and injuring a 2nd. The suspects then fled the area on foot.



The perp entered the crime scene on McNichols & Ward and fired a shot at officers at around 2:34AM, striking 1 unit with a round and striking 2 parked DPD scout cars with his vehicle, almost striking an officer in the process according to dispatch audio. According to Detroit Police Chief Craig, the suspect may have been laying in wait while officers were investigating the scene on McNichols, consuming alcohol. The perp is believed to be a friend of the fatally injured person on the McNichols MVC.

Officers began their chase, pursuing the black GMC Yukon throughout the City of Detroit, moving east into the downtown and then north into the northeast side, ending at 8 Mile & Mohican.

The perp exited his vehicle where he once again fired on officers. At least 2 officers from the 12th Precinct returned fire, striking and killing the perp. The perp was armed with a .40S&W semi automatic handgun. The perp was then loaded into a 7th Precinct unit and conveyed to St John Hospital where he expired.

Dispatch Audio-Video: Detroit Police, Michigan State Police Pursue And Apprehend Murder Suspect On Detroit’s West Side

Detroit’s West Side (10:30PM March 12 2021): DPD’s 6th/2nd Precinct were monitoring a pair of suspects inside a vehicle suspected of being involved in a shooting/shots fired earlier in the area of Fenkell & Outer Dr W. The suspects inside the vehicle pointed a weapon in the direction of officers earlier. The suspect vehicle, a stolen white Dodge Charger with a cover over the license plate, and blacked out took police and troopers on a high speed chase through the west side. The vehicle struck a 6th Precinct scout car at Kentfield & I-96 and crashed. Both were taken into custody, weapon(s) were recovered. The suspects were treated at the scene by Rapid Response Medic 51.No officers were injured. Dispatch audio of the incident is below.

via Michigan State Police: Assist to Detroit Police: On 03/12 at approximately 10 35 PM, troopers overheard on the Detroit Police talk group that a DPD Scout had two subjects point guns at them.  DPD advised there were at least two people in the suspect vehicle both armed with pistols. Troopers located the Dodge Charger that matched the description at Evergreen and I-96 running with no lights.



They attempted a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle. Troopers pursued the vehicle until it stopped on a side street. As troopers approached, the suspect driver then fled again.



The suspect ran a stop sign at Kentfield and I 96 service drive striking a DPD unit. Troopers and DPD arrested the two subjects without incident. The vehicle was confirmed stolen and a stolen handgun was recovered from the vehicle. It was also discovered the driver was wanted in connection to a homicide. The suspects were treated for minor injuries on scene. None of the officers were hurt. Pends further investigation.
