Dispatch Audio: 2 Shot Dead On Detroit’s East Side, Again

Update: US Marshals have captured the suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of 2 cousins, Allen and Demarco Armstrong on January 20, 2020, Detroit’s east side @ Waltham & Eastwood. Oscar Johnson from Harper Woods was taken into custody today in Lexington, Kentucky. Johnson has been charged with two counts of first-degree premeditated murder, three counts of felony firearm, one count of firearms possession by a felon. Johnson’s MDOC.

Detroit’s East Side (2:13AM): A Scout from Detroit’s 9th Precinct, Detroit Fire’s Engine 60, Squad 6 and Detroit EMS Medic 15 responded to reports of a vehicle accident @ Waltham & Eastwood early Monday morning.

Those reports were soon amended to a shooting on scene. Arriving scouts from Detroit’s 9th Precinct discovered two males in their 30’s shot dead. One victim was found dead in the drivers seat of the vehicle, the other in the passenger seat. Their black Chevrolet Impala had crashed into a chain link fence just west of Waltham on Eastwood.

Detroit EMS Medic 15 and DEMS Supervisor 1104 pronounced the victims deceased on scene.

Brouhaha on Detroit’s east side, knifes, guns and blood…

Detroit’s East Side (1:30PM): DPD Scouts from the 9th Precinct are investigating a brawl in the 15600 block of Manning that left 3 people injured.

A 27 year old female is in the hospital with a gunshot wound, a 29 year old male and a 19 year old female suffered stab wounds during the fracas. No one died in the normally quiet neighborhood just east of the Heilmann Community Center, but according to a source close to the investigation, “There are a lot of hurt feelings right now on the east side”.

All of the victims were privately conveyed to the hospital.

Non Fatal Shooting, Shots Fired Into An Occupied Dwelling, Sunday Roundup

44 Year Old Male Shot On East Side


Detroit’s East Side (5:15AM): DPD’s 5th Precinct were dispatched to St John Hospital early Sunday morning for a shooting report. The victim had self-conveyed to St John Hospital at around 5:15AM. The victim suffered gunshot wounds to his forearm and leg.

Initially, officers were dispatched to Maiden & Connor to canvass for a shooting scene, that information soon changed after interviewing the victim and officers were sent to Gunston & Maiden. The victim is in stable condition.


Shots Fired Into An Occupied Dwelling

Detroit’s West Side (4:00AM): DPD scouts from the 6th Precinct were dispatched to the 9900 block of Longacre early Sunday morning on reports of shots fired into an occupied dwelling. No one was injured and Detroit Police Evidence/Forensic techs were dispatched to process the scene.

Dispatch Audio: Officer Involved Shooting, 7 Mile & Telegraph

Suspect Shot, Crashes @ 8 Mile & Telegraph

Detroit’s West Side 4:37PM: An officer from Detroit’s 2nd Precinct was involved in an officer involved shooting this afternoon. Shots were fired at the suspect at the BP Gas Station @ 7 Mile & Telegraph according to dispatch audio.

The suspects vehicle, described as a tan Saturn, continued north on Telegraph to the area of 8 Mile where the vehicle crashed. Multiple units from the 8th, 6th & 2nd Precincts are in the area securing both scenes. A DPD union steward has also been dispatched.

Detroit EMS Medic’s 27/4 were dispatched to 8 Mile & Telegraph (suspect) and DEMS Medic 11 to the BP @ 19100 W Telegraph (injured officer).

One injured person, suspect or civilian is unknown, was conveyed by DEMS Medic 27 (Code 1 Critical) to Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills and the injured officer to Sinai-Grace by DEMS Medic 11, Code 2 (Not Critical).

The extent of injuries on both are unknown at this time.

Update: An officer was struck by a suspect driving a stolen vehicle @ the BP Gas @ 7 Mile & Telegraph. The officer fired on the suspect, striking him in the stomach. The shot suspect continued driving up Telegraph until he struck and killed a pedestrian/or occupant of a vehicle in the area of 8 Mile & Telegraph. The suspect was conveyed to the hospital and is in critical condition. The officer suffered a knee injury.

Dispatch Audio: DPD 6th Precinct officer injured while arresting a bad guy on the west side.

Officer Injures Head, Shakes It Off, Arrests Suspect


Detroit’s West Side (5:30AM): DPD 6th Precinct officers sitting on a ‘shots fired into an occupied dwelling” call in the 7400 block of Rockdale, waiting on DPD evidence technicians to arrive, found themselves in a foot chase with 3 suspects, according to dispatch audio. It’s unknown if those 3 subjects were involved in the earlier shots fired into the dwelling incident.

The 6th Precinct Scout, with 2 officers assigned, were waiting on evidence technicians to arrive and process the scene. The officer was injured while scaling a fence in a backyard on the 7300 block of Dacosta, severely injuring his head. The officer apparently shook it off, rubbed some dirt in his face and arrested one of the fleeing suspects….because he’s a badass.

Although DEMS Medics were ordered, officers on the scene conveyed the injured officer to Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn. Dispatch audio the injured officer experienced difficulty breathing during the conveyance and hospital officials were made aware.

DPD established a perimeter around the area, ordered K9 to the scene and continued their investigation. The suspect arrested by the injured officer was conveyed to the DDC (Detroit Detention Center) by other DPD scouts.The injured officer’s condition is unknown at this time.
