Dispatch Audio First 30 Minutes Fort Lauderdale Airport Shooting


 
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport: This is the first half hour/30 minutes of dispatch audio of the shooting incident at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport. It’s been edited for time and dead air. All pertinent information is included.

5 Dead, 8 injured according to Broward County Sheriff’s Department.

The shooting took place on the lower level of Terminal 2, baggage claim carousel number 3.

The shooting suspect has been identified as Esteban Santiago and is in custody.

Santiago traveled from Alaska to Minneapolis, then to Fort Lauderdale.

Fatal Motor Vehicle Versus Pedestrian On Detroit’s West Side

Detroit – West Side’s 3rd Precinct: A fatal hit & run occurred on Detroit’s west side last night around 10:15PM near the intersection of W Grand Blvd & Linwood.

Details are sketchy but investigators are looking into whether the female victim was hit or tossed out of a vehicle.

Detroit Police units from the 3rd Precinct are investigating the incident. DPD supervisors, an accident trained officer and the fatal squad also made the scene.

DETROIT (WWJ) – Was she struck by a vehicle, or perhaps something more sinister?

Detroit police are trying to sort out conflicting reports of how a woman in her 30s died on the city’s west side.

The incident unfolded around 10:30 p.m. Thursday in the area of West Grand Boulevard and Linwood Street, not far from one of the city’s high schools.

Investigators have received conflicting reports of either a hit-and-run or the victim possibly being pushed out of a moving vehicle.

Police say officers observed broken glass, blood and a pair of boots at the scene.

The victim is an unidentified Hispanic woman, believed to be in her 30s.

She was taken to Henry Ford Hospital where she died in the emergency room.

The suspect is unknown, but could possibly be driving a black sedan.

An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 313-267-4600.

24-HOUR DETROIT MAJOR CRIME SUMMARY REPORT
January 04, 2017 – 12:00 a.m. to January 04, 2017 – 11:59 p.m.

NOTE: The following summaries are allegations of incidents that have been reported and are under investigation.

Precinct: 6th Precinct
Location: 7000 block of Plainview
Time: 01/04/17 7:20 p.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES:
The suspect made location, fired a shot in the air and took the 01 year old female victim from the home and escaped in a green Cadillac Deville.

An Amber Alert was issued and the father surrendered himself.

The victim was not injured.

ARRESTED:
Suspect – Black male, 33.

Precinct: 2nd Precinct
Location: 6000 block of Mackenzie
Time: 01/04/17 9:45 p.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES:
The two male victims (25 and 24) were inside of the location when shots were fired into the home, striking both victims in their bodies.

They were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Fatal Shooting On Detroit’s Northeast Side

Update: Kyrell Raymond Alonzo is in custody.

Northeast Detroit – 5 January 2017 – 00:15AM: Detroit Police were called to the Marathon Gas Station at 15130 Gratiot Ave early Thursday morning for a shooting. Units from the 9th Precinct found 1 male had sustained gunshot wounds at the scene.

Surveillance footage provided a description of the shooter and the shooter’s vehicle.

Suspect’s Identified as Derrick Everson & Kyrell Raymond Alonzo

Witnesses stated that 2 males were seen running from the gas station following the shooting. Some witnesses believed another male had been shot near the scene, but no further information was provided. One black male was carrying a handgun.

The vehicle is described as a gold Buick with at least 5 occupants. The right front tire is missing a hubcap.

The shooter is described a black male with a light complexion and long hair. The shooter is described as wearing a baby blue hoodie, blue jeans with a baseball cap.

Javon Terry, the 22 year old victim died of his wounds at St John’s Hospital on Moross.

3 Detroit Firefighters Injured On Fire Scene

5th Battalion’s Cameron Box Alarm Dispatch Audio

Detroit – 4 January 2017: 3 Detroit Firefighters were injured while fighting a fire on Detroit’s north end early Wednesday morning at around 0740am.

The 5th Battalion was dispatched to the 9100 block of Cameron for an occupied dwelling fire. Companies assigned were Battalion Chief 5, Highland Park Engine 1, Hamtramck Engine 1, Engine 35, Ladder Truck 7, Engine 17, Squad 3, DEMS Medic 1 and Engine 39 as the RIT (Rapid Intervention Team).

Engine 35 was the first company on the scene and immediately started placing water on the fire. All occupants from the house made it out safely according to Battalion Chief 5.

During the firefight, firefighters from the 5th Battalion’s Engine 35 were injured. The unconfirmed cause of the injuries was a backdraft occurring during the firefight.

Injuries ranged from minor burns, soft tissue damage and an injured ankle.

Engine 35’s injured firefighters were transported to Detroit Receiving Hospital by DEMS Medic 16 according to radio traffic.

The Fire Chief (200) and Deputy Chief (201) both made the fire scene, eventually visiting the injured firefighters at the hospital.

Detroit Police Arson Car 809 was dispatched and also made the fire scene.

Ladder Truck 7 issued the disposition code of 30, “undetermined” as the cause behind the fire.

Battalion Chief 5 took Engine 35 out of service until manpower could be replenished.

The condition of the firefighters has not been released.
