Officer Involved Shooting On Detroit’s West Side
Detroit’s West Side: DPD 6th Precinct Scouts were dispatched to the 6000 block of Westwood for an unknown problem at around 3:01PM, later announced as assistance to bailiffs executing an eviction. The location was triangulated by x/y coordinates. Arriving officers from the 6th Precinct immediately asked for a 6th Precinct supervisor to make the scene.
Officers on the scene called out shots fired and reported an individual was firing on them with a high powered rifle around 3:20PM. No officers were injured at that time and officers did fire their weapons according to dispatch audio. Detroit PD’s SRT/SWAT was recalled and a barricaded gunman incident was declared.
2 suspects were taken into custody and the house was cleared by Metro SRT. It doesn’t appear as if any additional suspects were taken into custody and no injuries were reported on scene.
The scene has been declared secure and ended peacefully without injuries to scouts of suspect(s).
