Detroit: November 30, 2018 – Detroit Police responded to a shots fired call earlier this evening just before 8:00PM. What originated as a shots fired call at the Russell Industrial Center at 1600 Clay St, soon became a double shooting scene. A 911 caller stated he heard a number of shots being fired, then stepped outside and saw 1 person on the ground.
Officer’s from the 3rd Precinct arrived and discovered 2 victims with multiple gunshot wounds. 1 victim was described as having a GSW to the shoulder and face, but still breathing. The second victim was described as cold and not breathing, no pulse.
Victims are both described as W/Ms, 20 & 21. The 21 year old died at the scene and the 20 year old is hospitalized with critical injuries.
Detroit EMS Medic 20 conveyed the critically injured 20 year old to Henry Ford Hospital.
The Russell Industrial Center is home to a number of art galleries. The shooting took place outside of the center.
