Detroit Police & Fire Discover Body In Burning Vehicle

January 3 2018

Detroit’s NE Side: Detroit Police & Fire Companies discovered a dead body inside a burning GMC Yukon early Wednesday morning.

The DPD and DFD were dispatched to the 10300 block of Outer Drive East at 02:50AM Wednesday morning for a vehicle fire/shots fired call.

The reporting person told police she was awakened by a popping sound on the side of her home and when she looked outside, saw the burning SUV in her driveway.

Ladder Truck 27 from the 7th Battalion and Engine 46 from the 9th Battalion arrived on scene and stretched a red line on the burning Yukon.

The officer of Ladder Truck 27 requested an arson car to the scene due to a victim being inside the burned SUV.

The 9th Precinct’s scout on scene also advised DPD dispatch that he had an “obvious K-Type” in the driver seat of the vehicle.

Investigators have indicated the body belonged to a male and had also been shot.

The white 2007 GMC Yukon came back registered to an address on James Couzens in the City of Eastpointe.

The vehicle had not been reported stolen.

Double Fatal Shooting On Detroit’s NE Side

January 1, 2018 By Motor City 911

January 1 2018

Detroit’s NE Side: Detroit Police found the bodies of 2 people @ 9241 McKinney St on Detroit’s NE side today at 2:15PM. Both were dead from GSWs to the head…but more on that later.

The story on the double fatal shooting starts yesterday, on New Years Eve.

Detroit Police units from the 9th Precinct were called to the same residence, 9241 McKinney, at 10:18PM Sunday evening.

Tweet below is from yesterday @ 10:18PM.

Shooting: RP reports a possible shooting @ McKinney & Berkshire, then hung up on the 911 operator. 9th Precinct. https://t.co/UTd56q0ZmY

— Motor City 911 (@DetroitScanner) January 1, 2018

DPD’s 9th Precinct dispatched a unit to “an unknown problem”. The unidentified male caller gave the address on McKinney and stated someone was shot or injured at the address, then discontinued the call.

Sunday Evening Dispatch To 9241 McKinney

No further was reported on that call. No disposition was caught on dispatch tapes, so I have no clue what happened after the units made the scene.

I’m assuming they found nothing that would demand further investigation and cleared the call. It was a busy New Year’s Eve with calls stacking up.

Which brings us back to New Years Day at 2:15PM.

Apparently, someone in the gang unit received information that there was a dead body at the scene.

Who gave them that information is unknown…but one can assume.

Gang Unit 2403 then went to the address and was overheard on dispatch stating he was investigating a possible dead body and needed a 9th Precinct supervisor and a scout car at the scene.

Possible DOS/Dead Body:

McKinney & Berkshire in the 9th Precinct.

Gang Intell requests a scout and a supervisor.

4 Day Old Infant Shot In Detroit

Detroit Police & Detroit Fire Response

An infant was shot Wednesday night around 1020PM. Detroit Police were dispatched to Maddelein & Boulder St on reports of a male shot at the location.

Reports were later updated to include 2 others, 1 being a child.

Detroit Fire’s Engine 48 and DEMS Medic 44 were also dispatched to the scene.

Detroit Fire’s Engine 48 was first to arrive on scene and staged close by, waiting the arrival of police units.

Engine 48 advised Central Dispatch that a child had been shot and they were going to respond to the scene. Detroit police units from the 9th precinct were still enroute and not on scene.

Engine 48 discovered the child and a woman had both been shot and requested an ETA for medics. Central Dispatch advised Engine 48 that Medic 44 had a 5 minute ETA and that Battalion Chief 9 and DEMS supervisor 1104 were also enroute.

Detroit Police units from the 9th Precinct arrived  on scene and decided to convey the child to Henry Ford Hospital on Moross. 9th Precinct Scout 933 transported while other units cleared the way to the hospital, blocking intersections while advising dispatch of 933’s progress.

Engine 48 also reported a female had been shot in the leg and was being conveyed to the hospital by DEMS Medic 44.

No other victims were reported. Both the 4 day old infant male and his 24 year old mother sustained non life threatening injuries.

Detroit Police Seek Bus Shooter

[fvplayer src=”https://youtu.be/vPDuZE62EJw” width=”700″ height=”400″]

This is video from a story we broke on March 23, 2017. DPD units from the 9th Precinct responded to reports of a shooting on a DDOT Bus at Harper & Whittier on Detroit’s east side..

Upon arrival, responding officers reported that none of the fired rounds took effect, then quickly amended their report stating some rounds had struck the bus.

The incident began when the DDOT bus was flagged down by a woman at Harper & Whittier. She was quickly followed by the suspect, DeWilliam Pugh. An argument between the suspect and woman took place inside the bus when the bus driver intervened.

The bus driver repeatedly ordered the suspect off the bus until he pushed Pugh off.

Pugh then appears to fire at least 2 rounds in the direction of the driver, missing him. At least 1 round struck the door of the bus.

Update: The rounds DID take effect, striking the DDOT Bus, but no injuries, thankfully.
