Detroit’s East Side – January 24 2018/1040PM: A Detroit police officer was shot on Detroit’s east side Wednesday night at 10:40PM. Officer’s from the 7th Precinct were called to 5527 McDougall on reports of a domestic disturbance and shots fired.

Units from several districts/precincts were involved in the incident. Michigan State Police K-9 and MSP helicopter asset Trooper 2 also assisted the DPD during the incident.
The suspect barricaded himself on the 2nd floor of the residence until SRT/SWAT units fired tear gas into the dwelling. The suspect attempted to escape but was captured and taken into custody. At least 30 bullet casings were found on the scene.
