Inkster Fatal Shooting, Suspect In Custody

Updated 8:15PM

Further Information via Michigan State Police: Preliminary Investigation revealed that the victim and suspect got into argument over a car in parking lot. The suspect got into a fist fight with victim and knocked the victim down.

The victims pistol fell out of his waistband and fell on the ground (victim has CPL). The victim picked up his gun and walked towards suspect. The suspect fired several rounds, striking and killing the victim.

The suspect is in custody and his weapon had been seized. The victim is a 34 year old male from Dearborn. Family notifications have been made. Interviews are pending with witnesses and suspect.


Inkster, Mi: 2:58PM January 19, 2019 – Inkster Police were called to the Marathon Gas Station @ 28474 Michigan Ave earlier today on reports of a shooting.

Dispatch audio suggests an AT&T employee was involved in the shooting, but that information isn’t clear on whether they were the shooter or the victim.

The shooter was described as being armed and wearing a yellow vest, last seen on Michigan Ave & Springhill, east of Middlebelt.

Arriving officers were able to detain 1 suspect matching the description on Michigan Ave & Springhill Ave.

The victim was pronounced dead on the scene by Inkster Fire.

MSP Special Investigation Detectives and troopers from Metro South were dispatched to the scene @ 3:25PM.

MSP Investigate Shooting In Inkster

Update – Jan 13 2019: MSP is now saying the victim may have been struck in the left side of this head by a stray round fired outside of his residence. MSP & Inkster PD are still investigating.

Inkster, Mi: Inkster PD & Michigan State Police are investigating a shooting that took place in the 26900 block Notre Dame St in Inkster Saturday evening.

Inkster Fire originally took a call for a fire in an occupied dwelling about 8:45PM Saturday evening. The incident quickly changed when it was revealed to be a shooting.

Arriving officers found the 28 year old male victim had sustained a gunshot wound to the head. Inkster FD dispatched a rescue unit from Station 6 to the scene.

At the time of dispatch, law enforcement were searching for an early model Blue Chevrolet Trailblazer with plastic/tarp covering the passenger side window.

The suspect at time of dispatch was described as a black male wearing a white hoodie.

Inkster Rescue from Station 6 conveyed the victim to Dearborn’s Oakwood Hospital in critical condition. Identity of the victim is unknown.

Inkster PD & Michigan State Police are investigating the incident.

Rashard Bell Sought For Shooting At Stardust Lounge

Inkster – December 17 2016: Inkster Police are seeking 28 year old Rashad Bell for the fatal shooting of a 25 year old male at an Inkster nightclub early Saturday morning.

Inkster Police were called to the Stardust Lounge at 3736 Inkster Rd at around 1:03am Saturday morning.

IPD received reports of a shooting at the club located on Inkster Rd & Carlylse St. When units arrived they found a 25 year old male had been shot and numerous patrons of the nightclub in the parking lot.

Inkster Police units then asked neighboring police agencies for help with scene containment. Officer’s on the scene reported numerous patrons were attempting to leave the parking lot.

The victim, a 25 year old male died at the hospital.

Police estimate as many as 50 people needed to be interviewed.

Inkster Police identified the shooter as 28 year old Rashad Bell.
