Detroit Fire’s Engine 53 Involved In MVA On West Side
Detroit’s West Side 10:12PM November 2 2021: Detroit Fire’s Engine 53 reported they were involved in an injury traffic accident at around 10:12PM Tuesday evening. Engine 53 requested EMS, a squad and chief to the scene at Fenkell & Prevost on Detroit’s west side. Detroit Police dispatch audio suggested that civilians on scene were assaulting firefighters. Multiple units of the DPD were dispatched to the scene. The first arriving unit reported the scene is now secure and for the other responding units to slow it down.
False Alarm
Detroit Fire’s Engine 53 was responding to a residential fire alarm run when they were involved in the accident. That run was handled by Ladder Truck 25 and Engine 30 following the accident. The residential fire alarm proved to be a false alarm.
DEMS Medic 17 conveyed 1 firefighter to Sinai-Grace, non critical. DEMS Medic 3 conveyed 2 civilians to Henry Ford, non critical.

Detroit Fire Photographer, Detroit Fire Repair Shop. 5 Detroit Police units from the 10th and 12th Precincts were dispatched to the scene.
