Dispatch Audio: Shots Fired At Martin Luther King Jr High School On Detroit’s East Side

Detroit’s East Side – 3:28PM Jun 10 2019: Detroit Police’s 7th Precinct received a 911 call stating that shots had been fired at Martin Luther King Jr High School, 3200 E Lafayette, on Detroit’s east side. The caller reported 10 shots being fired.

Initial reports indicated the vehicle was a gray Nissan with a plate of ECB 6857. Those reports were changed following witness interviews, the vehicle was actually a 2019 gray Kia Forte, last seen westbound on Lafayette.

Shortly afterward, a DPD unit picked the vehicle up on the NB I-75 @ Warren. The unit followed the vehicle occupied by 4 subjects, up the NB I-75 while waiting for backup. Detroit Police units staged themselves at different locations along the I-75.

The vehicle was stopped on the I-75 just north of the Davison, 4 were taken into custody.

The incident was reported @ 3:38PM and the suspects taken into custody @ 3:46PM.

DPD Police Unit Boosted From Boost Mobile Store

Detroit’s East Side: It all started around 6:30pm, a Neighborhood Police Officer, or NPO for short, was off duty and on her way home when she stopped at the Boost Mobile Store @ 7451 Gratiot to pay a cell bill.

Reports indicate the Detroit Police Officer, a Sergeant, left the vehicle running while she popped into the Boost Mobile Store, because who the hell is going to snatch a marked police car, right?

Well, a rather desperate black male in a black hoodie decided to do just that and took the DPD unit for a short jaunt through the mean streets of Detroit’s east side.

The shocked officer notified dispatch that she last saw her police unit travelling southbound on Gratiot towards downtown Detroit. It’s unknown if a foot chase was involved, unlikely though.

The officer advised dispatch her weapon and ID were in her possession and not in the stolen unit.

Fortunately, a 7th Precinct unit spotted the stolen cruiser at Kercheval & Van Dyke. At the same time, the eagle like eyes of Crime Intel, or the Green Light Bat Cave the DPD uses to monitor Green Light Locations in Detroit, also spotted the errant police car.

A pair of 7th Precinct units then took the bad guy into custody at Kercheval & Van Dyke, saving further embarrassment to an already embarrassed police department.

The DPD has been dealing with drunken command staff, drunken officers sporting weapons in bars outside the city and a couple of their officer’s displaying incredibly poor judgement when they posted a questionable citizen contact on a social media platform.

It’s been a trying week for the Detroit Police Department.

Dispatch Audio: Cops Exchange Rounds With Bad Guys On Detroit’s East Side

Bang Bang, Bang Bang Bang

Detroit’s East Side: Detroit Police on the east side exchanged gunfire with a couple of bozos in the rear parking lot/security booth of Tycoon’s Executive Club, (Featuring the World’s Finest Showgirls) @ 12210 East 8 Mile Road/Dresden early Friday morning.

Thankfully, no one was hit during the exchange but officers took 2 into custody and recovered the firearm used by the two knuckleheads.

At that time of the morning, around 2:11am, DPD units were working a number of shots fired calls, mainly west of the Tycoon’s incident. The particulars of the shooting are being kept quiet and a call of inquiry to the DPD was met with “If you call us again, we’re calling the police”…..so, the dispatch audio is all you’re going to get.

DPD evidence techs were dispatched to process the scene before the evidence was buried by snowfall.

The audio picks up when the dispatcher acknowledges the “Shots Fired” call by the officers involved.

Dispatch Audio: Man Dies In Double East Side Shooting

2 Shot, 1 Fatally On Detroit’s East Side

Detroit’s East Side: DPD’s 5th Precinct was dispatched to an injury traffic collision at the intersection of Courville & E Warren early Saturday morning, around 1:53AM.

There, arriving officers discovered a 34 year old female shooting victim with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim said she had been shot at the J-Spot at E Warren & 3 Mile Dr just before she lost consciousness.

Investigating officers from the 5th & 9th Precincts discovered a male shooting victim laying in the road outside the J-Spot Bar & Grill @ 16200 E Warren.

Detroit EMS Medic 24 responded to the female victim @ Courville & E Warren and notified Detroit EMS dispatch that another DEMS rig would be required for the second shooting scene. Medic 24 also notified dispatch that CPR was being performed on the male victim.

DEMS Medic 15 and DEMS Supervisor 1104 responded to the scene in front of the J-Spot.

Both victims were conveyed to St Johns Hospital at Mack & Moross. The 34 year old female victim is said to be in critical condition and the 36 year old male victim has died of his wounds.
