Retired Detroit Police Officer Shot On West Side
November 29, 2016: The Detroit Police Department received word that an “off-duty” police officer had been shot and was being treated at Providence Hospital. The 2nd Precinct assigned a scout to make the hospital and take the report.
It turns out the off-duty Detroit LEO is actually a retired Detroit LEO.
The retired LEO was in the area of Forrer & Plymouth on Detroit’s west side when he pulled to the side of the road to text his wife. A man dressed in a dark hoodie approached and a struggle ensued.
During the struggle the retired Detroit Police Officer was shot in the hip. He conveyed himself to the hospital. No word on his condition at this time.

Love the fancy pants map! That darned book I’m reading (same series as before… on #9) revolves around a retired a Detroit LEO who gets shot a lot… Fortunately he’s just a character in a book. This gentleman sounds pretty tough. Hope he’s on the mend already!
