
Detroit Fire’s 2nd Battalion Discovers 2 Bodies On Fire Scene

Detroit’s west side-1045PM: A box alarm was issued on reports of a vacant dwelling fire on Detroit’s west side Monday evening. Detroit Fire’s 2nd Battalion were dispatched to a reported vacant dwelling fire at 8103 Mettetal.
Upon arrival, Engine 55 reported a small rubbish fire and the first engine and truck (Ladder 27) could handle the scene.
The box alarm was cancelled by Battalion Chief 2 and Ladder Truck 27 took command with Engine 55 stretching a red line on the fire.
Ladder Truck 27 then reported finding a body at the scene and requested a Detroit Police scout from central dispatch.

Once the smoke had cleared, Ladder 27 reported finding another body to DPD Arson Car 812.
The scene was secured by the DFD companies and a DPD scout.
Units from the Precinct made the scene and DPD Arson Car 812 took incident command from Battalion Chief 2.
Investigators later determined the bodies were that of a man and a woman, in their 20s, had been shot and the fire started to cover up the crime. The deceased have yet to be identified.
