Detroit’s West Side February 5 2018 640PM: Detroit Police units from the 10th Precinct responded to reports of an 83 year old man being shot @ Ewald Circle & Cortland on Detroit’s west side.

A local business at 3636 Ewald Circle reported that a citizen had walked in and reported he’d been shot in the thigh.

Units arrived on the scene and confirmed the shooting.

Detroit Fire’s Engine 42 and Detroit EMS were also dispatched to the scene. The victim was conveyed to Sinai-Grace Hospital. His condition is unknown.

Detroit: February 5 2018 @ 5:55PM: Detroit Police units from the 11th Precinct responded to Fleming & E Lantz Ave on reports of a shooting.

Arriving units discovered 1 victim deceased at the scene.

Detroit Police evidence technicians, homicide investigators and the shooting team were dispatched to the scene.

UPDATE: MSP’s K9-1 & 2 responded to a house on Fleming St. Both K-9s were set to track a possible suspect in the fatal shooting.

Woman Tries To Set Self On Fire In DPD Precinct

Detroit – February 5 2018 2:20AM: A woman, described as a “mental”, walked into the Detroit PD’s 3rd Precinct on W Grand & 3rd early this morning and tried to set herself on fire.

A commotion could be heard over the radio and dispatch immediately notified 3rd Precinct units in the field to make the precinct.

Officers inside the precinct were able to stop the woman from hurting herself and a Detroit EMS unit was dispatched to the scene.

No officers were injured.

Man Shot In NW Detroit – Gilchrist & Clarita

Detroit February 3 2018 9:25PM: DPD units from the 8th Precinct responded to the 18900 block of Gilchrist Saturday evening at 9:25PM on reports of a male being shot.

Multiple units responded and found 1 man shot. DPD describes the shooter’s vehicle as a burgundy Chevrolet Equinox, last seen heading northbound from the location.

A description of the suspect was unavailable.

Detroit Police evidence techs have been dispatched to the scene of the non-fatal shooting.

2 Detroit Police Units Involved In Multi-Vehicle Accident

Detroit’s NE Side – February 2 2018 1020PM: Two Detroit Police units were involved in an MVA late Friday evening @ Gratiot & McNichols. Reports indicate there were 5 vehicles involved and injuries were reported.

It’s unknown who slammed into who.

2 civilians complained of injuries and at least 1 DPD officer was conveyed to St John’s Hospital by a 5th Precinct unit on scene.

The injured civilians were conveyed to St John’s hospital by Detroit EMS.

The extent of injuries to the DPD officer(s) isn’t known.

The civilians complained of neck injuries and they didn’t sound too serious, but the lawyers haven’t been notified yet.

Prior to the accident, a 9th Precinct unit reported a foot chase on Glenview, prompting other units to respond. It’s unknown if the 2 units involved in the traffic collision were responding to that incident.

Multiple units from other precincts were sent to the 9th Precinct to assist in answering calls while the 9th was busy sorting the accident out.

Union stewards were sent to St Johns Hospital for the injured officer(s) and an accident trained officer with DPD evidence techs were dispatched to the scene.
