Detroit Major Crime Summary For 25 December 2016

24-HOUR MAJOR CRIME SUMMARY REPORT
December 25, 2016 – 12:00 a.m. to December 25, 2016 – 11:59 p.m.

NOTE: The following summaries are allegations of incidents that have been reported and are under investigation.

Precinct: 9th Precinct
Location: 12000 block of Harper
Time: 12/25/16 2:30 a.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES:
The 26 year old male victim was discovered fatally shot in the parking lot of the location. The circumstances pertaining to this incident are unknown at this time

WANTED:
Suspect – Unknown, armed.

Precinct: 12th Precinct
Location: Euclid / Linwood
Time: 12/25/16 3:30 a.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES:
The suspects approached the 44 year old male victim and robbed him. He was not injured.

WANTED:
Suspect # 1– Black male, 6’0”, 150 lbs., medium complected, light mustache, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, armed.
Suspect # 2 – Black male, 5’7”, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, driving a Silver Ford Fusion.
Suspect # 3 – Black male, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.

Location: Chelsea/ Coplin
Time: 12/25/16 6:05 p.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES:
The 35 year old female victim was traveling in her silver 2007 Dodge Charger and attempted to avoid hitting the suspects. As she stopped her vehicle, suspect #1 broke out of the driver’s side back window and suspect #2 ordered her out of the vehicle. The suspects entered the victim’s vehicle and escaped. The victim was not injured.

WANTED:
Suspect # 1 – Black male, 20-30, 5’7”, light complexion, skinny, thin beard, wearing a black skull cap, black/red coat, armed.
Suspect # 2 – Black male.

Detroit Major Crime Summary For 24 December 2016

December 24, 2016 – 12:00 a.m. to December 24, 2016 – 11:59 p.m.

NOTE: The following summaries are allegations of incidents that have been reported and are under investigation.

Precinct: 4th Precinct
Location: 3000 block of Wesson
Time: 12/24/16 9:50 a.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES:
The suspects approached the 31 year old male victim and demanded his green 1999 Volkswagen Jetta. The victim was not injured.

WANTED:
Suspects – Two Black males, armed.

Precinct: 10th Precinct
Location: Euclid / Linwood
Time: 12/24/16 2:30 p.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES:
The 58 year old male victim was driving when he stopped to talk with suspect # 1. During the conversation, suspect # 2 walked up to the driver side window, pointed a weapon at the victim and ordered him out of the vehicle. The suspect entered the vehicle and escaped.

WANTED:
Suspect # 1– Black female, known as “China”.
Suspect # 2 – Black male, 25, 5’10”, 190 lbs., wearing a black hat, armed.

Precinct: 9th Precinct
Location: 15000 block of Gratiot
Time: 12/24/16 7:39 p.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES:
The suspects entered the store and began taking items from the counter and also took an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency from the cash register. As the 28 year old male victim approached the suspects, one of the suspects fired shots, striking the victim in the body. He was treated for a non-fatal injury.

WANTED:
Suspects – Four Black males, armed.

Detroit Major Crime Summary For 23 December 2016

December 23, 2016 – 12:00 a.m. to December 23, 2016 – 11:59 p.m.

NOTE: The following summaries are allegations of incidents that have been reported and are under investigation.

Precinct: 5th Precinct
Location: 6000 block of Neff
Time: 12/23/16 3:15 a.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES:
The two male victims (26 and 30) were sitting in a black 2006 Cadillac CTS when the suspects approached and demanded their vehicle. One of the suspects fired shots striking both victims in their bodies. They were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

WANTED:
Suspects – Three to Four Black males, one of them armed.

Precinct: 8th Precinct
Location: 19000 block of Telegraph
Time: 12/23/16 3:08 p.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES:
The suspect entered the bank and gave the teller a note demanding money. The suspect then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. No one was injured.

WANTED:
Suspect – White male, 5’5”, slim build, red beard and freckles, wearing a black skull cap, black Nike sweatshirt, black Puma jogging pants with a white stripe and black shoes.

Location: 18000 block of Carey
Time: 12/23/16 8:50 p.m.

CIRCUMSTANCES:
The 25 year old male victim was outside when he heard shots and felt pain. He was treated for a non-life threatening injury.

Suspect – Unknown, armed.

13 Year Old Shot Dead By Brother In Another Detroit Accidental Shooting

13 Year Old Detroit Teen Shot Dead In Overnight Shooting

East Detroit’s 5th Precinct – December 21 2016: Another teen has been shot dead in an apparent accidental shooting on Detroit’s east side overnight.

Detroit Police officers from the 5th Precinct responded to the 700 block of Tennessee on the east side around 2:00am this morning on reports of a shooting.

Police officers arriving on scene discovered a 13 year old male had been shot by his 18 year old brother.

The young men were reportedly at the home by themselves and the circumstances surrounding the shooting are unknown.

Details on how they acquired the firearm are unknown at this time.

A Detroit EMS unit was dispatched to the scene with a 5-6 minute ETA, but officer’s on scene decided to transport the victim to St John Hospital at 2:07AM.

The teen died at the hospital.

Police believe the shooting was an accident.

This incident follows another accidental shooting of a 13 year old on December 12 2016. In that incident, a 13 year old was shot and killed on Detroit’s west side.

Former Buffalo Bills Linebacker Robert Eddins Shot Dead In Detroit

Former Buffalo Bill’s Football Player Robert Eddins Found Shot To Death In Detroit

Northwest Detroit – December 20 2016: Detroit Police were called to the 20300 Block of Pierson on Detroit’s northwest side early Tuesday evening around 6:00PM after the bodies of 2 black males were discovered in the basement of a dwelling on Pierson St.

One of those victims was later identified as former Ball State football player and Buffalo Bill’s linebacker Robert Eddins , 28, of Detroit.

Police found the 2 bodies of the men with multiple gunshot wounds after the father of Robert Eddins came home and discovered his son and another man, identified as 32 year old Ricky McFarland, shot multiple times.

Detroit Fire also dispatched an engine to the scene for a gas leak inside the dwelling.

Officers on the scene requested evidence techs and homicide investigators to the scene.

Robert Eddins attended Crockett High School (now closed) on Detroit’s east side from 2003-2006 where he lettered in football and was considered the 28th best football player in the State of Michigan at the time. Mr Eddins also made the Detroit News All Stars in his senior year.

While attending Ball State University from 2006 to 2010, he managed to again letter in football where his career sack total (17) ranks sixth in school history.

After going undrafted in the 2011 NFL Draft, Eddins signed as a free agent with the Buffalo Bills. He was placed on the injured reserve list on September 14, and waived with an injury settlement on September 20.

He was signed by the Bills to their practice squad on November 30.

On January 6, 2012, Eddins was signed to the Buffalo Bills. While making a rise up the depth chart in that summers training camp on August 21 in the Rochester, New York, Eddins was quoted as saying “Being inconsistent makes you non-existent”.

Mr Eddins played 1 game with the Buffalo Bills.

He was the son of Robert & Bridgett Eddins III.
