Non Custodial Parent Abduction In Richmond
via Michigan State Police: On 7/29 at approximately 7:10 AM, troopers were dispatched to the 27000 block of Irwin Road, Richmond Township for a stolen vehicle complaint. Upon arrival troopers learned that the a five week old girl was also missing.
Further investigation revealed that the child’s biological father came to the mother’s home snuck into the house by crawling under the house and entering a crawl space and kidnapped their 5 week old child. The male suspect has no parental rights to the child.
The suspect stole the victim’s vehicle and fled the scene with the baby. The victim also indicted the suspect has mental health issues. A notice was sent to local departments with the description of the victim and the child.
Troopers were in the process of issuing an Amber Alert when the child was found by Madison Heights Police after they were notified that workers at a local business heard a child crying. When they went to investigate, the located a child on the sidewalk in a car seat.
Madison Heights fire department transported the child to the Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak to be evaluated and she has been reunited with her mother. The stolen vehicle was also recovered. A short time later Troy Police notified MSP that they had the suspect.
Currently, detectives are interviewing the suspect. Once he is processed he will be lodged pending prosecutor review. The child doesn’t appear to be harmed. Great work by all the agencies involved to recover this child.
Update: Nicholas Frost, 42 years old from Troy, was arraigned today in the 42-1 District Court on a four count warrant: Unlawful Driving Away of Automobile, Home Invasion, Unlawful Imprisonment, Child Abandonment, He received $250,000 cash bond. Pends court proceedings.
