At Least 3 Shot Wednesday Evening In Detroit, November 3 2021

Non Fatal Shootings On Detroit’s NW & NE Sides

Detroit 3 Nov 2021: Detroit Police are investigating 2 non fatal shootings in which at least 3 were shot, two in the 8th Precinct side and one in the 9th.

Pembroke & Stout Double Non Fatal Shooting

Detroit’s NW Side 6:50PM: Detroit Police 8th Precinct were dispatched to Pembroke & Stout on reports of a shooting. Officers arrived and found what appears to be at least 2 people with gunshot wounds, according to dispatch audio. Detroit Fire’s Engine 54 (MFR) and DEMS Medics 4/17 also responded. DEMS Medic 17 conveyed at least 2, non critical.

Dispatch audio suggests 1 of those suffering from a GSW or injured was a suspect.


Berkshire & Nottingham Non Fatal Shooting

Detroit’s NE Side 8:30PM: Detroit Police 9th Precinct scouts were dispatched to Berkshire & Nottingham on reports of a possible shooting. Minutes before, dispatched was notified of shots being fired in the area of Berkshire & Balfour/Somerset. Arriving officers discovered a male with a GSW in the back, according to dispatch audio. Dispatch audio also suggests that 2 people were seen fleeing the scene and entered a vacant dwelling nearby.

Officers quickly surrounded the house, entered and took at least 2 people into custody, a male and a female. Later audio suggests another male was also found inside the dwelling and detained by officers. Michigan State Police Air Unit Trooper 2 assisted ground units on an article search of the area.

Confirmed Shooting In NW Detroit, McNichols & Monte Vista

Detroit’s NW 11:16PM 25 July 2021: DPD’s 12th Precinct investigating another shooting at W McNichols & Monte Vista. DEMS also responded. DPD Evidence Techs are responding to process the scene of a non fatal shooting.

Woman Shot While Attending Party On Detroit’s East Side

5400 Block of Palmer

Detroit East Side-Non Fatal Shooting: Detroit PD’s 11th Precinct were dispatched to the 19600 block of St Louis early this morning at around 3:50AM on reports of a female with a gunshot wound.

Arriving units confirmed the shooting and through subsequent investigation responded to the 5400 block of Palmer looking for a shooting scene.

Dispatch audio suggest the woman was visiting a gathering when shots rang out. An argument took place, shots were fired and the woman was struck. She was then conveyed to the 19600 block of St Louis.

DEMS Medic 13 was dispatched and conveyed to woman to an area hospital. Her condition is unknown.

17500 Block of Santa Rosa

Detroit’s West Side: DPD’s 12th Precinct also responded to reports of a shooting early this morning in the 17500 block of Santa Rosa. Detail on this shooting is unknown. DPD evidence techs were dispatched to the scene of this non-fatal shooting. No further information at this time.

VIDEO: Shooting in Northern California Has Detroit Ties

Walnut Creek, California:

(KRON4) On May 21, officers responded to reports of gunshots in the 1200 block of Newell Avenue in Walnut Creek, California around 6:20 p.m. When they arrived, they found bullet casings, shattered glass and drops of blood in the area.


Officers soon learned that two men were taken to local hospitals for gunshot wounds related to the incident. Both men sustained non-life threatening injuries and are in stable condition. Video shows two suspects armed with handguns approach the passenger side of a parked car. At the time, one victim was sitting in the passenger seat. The suspects, who were wearing face masks, shot at the victim.

The driver of the parked car, identified as John Rankin, shot back at the two suspects and struck an innocent bystander who was sitting in a car parked nearby. Rankin also struck a second car who was also parked in the parking lot.

As a result of the investigation, Rankin was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and shooting into an inhabited vehicle. Officials say Rankin is a Detroit, Michigan resident.

Both suspects are described as adult males with dark skin.

The Walnut Creek Police Department released video Saturday, asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects. A motive for the shooting has not been determined.
