Comerica Bank Robbery – Downtown Detroit

The Comerica Bank in the Fisher Building was robbed this morning at about 10:30AM. The suspect was described as a black male, bald, no facial hair and wearing a tan jacket. A vehicle description was not provided.

The suspect was tracked heading east on the I-94, eventually ending up in the area of Mt Elliot & Garfield. Multiple Detroit Police units responded to the area. Tracking led police to 3 different locations on Mt Elliot & Garfield. A vehicle parked on Garfield & Meldrum was also checked for a possible connection to the suspect.

A suspect was detained at 4610 Mt Elliot and photos were taken for confirmation. Bank security officials were heard to be on their way to the scene on Mt Elliot. A Detroit Police unit had also responded to Comercia Bank in order to review tapes for a more accurate description of the suspect. Radio transmissions suggest that police are removing subjects from a home the perp is suspected of being in. A shirt worn by the suspect is also in police hands.

Michigan State Police’s helicopter Trooper 2 was en route with officials to the scene at Mt Elliot & Garfield but were cancelled @ 12:15PM when 2 suspects were taken into custody at 4610 Mt Elliot.
