Shooting On Detroit’s East Side

Detroit’s East Side – February 1 2018: A man was shot on Detroit’s east side this afternoon around 5:15PM. Detroit police from the 7th Precinct responded to the 1000 block of E Forest on reports of a fight between the reporting person’s son and her nephew.

Units were in the area investigating an incident thought to be in conjunction with the domestic on Forest. Responding units reported a bad address and responded to 1058 E Forest for the shooting. I don’t understand it either, so don’t ask.

Unfortunately, the son was armed with a shotgun and the nephew wasn’t. The nephew ended up getting a blast from the shotgun, resulting in superficial wounds. Officer’s on the scene stated the pellets didn’t break the skin.

The nephew was conveyed by DEMS to a local hospital as a precautionary measure and the son, well, he was conveyed to the Detroit Detention Center. Detroit evidence technicians were later dispatched to the scene to do what they do best, collect evidence. No further information is available at this time.
