Hamtramck, Michigan: Firefighters from multiple jurisdictions fought an occupied dwelling fire in the City of Hamtramck early Friday morning.
Detroit Fire’s Central Office dispatched the dwelling fire in the 13100 block of MacKay at 1:10AM and notified responding companies the house was occupied and children were trapped inside.
Upon arrival, companies immediately went into rescue mode and entered the dwelling in an attempt to locate victims.
Searches of the dwelling discovered 2 children and 1 adult, all injured.
A Hamtramck firefighter was also injured in the blaze.
A 2 year old child died of their injuries. The conditions of the other occupants and the Hamtramck firefighter are unknown.
