
Former Buffalo Bill’s Football Player Robert Eddins Found Shot To Death In Detroit

Northwest Detroit – December 20 2016: Detroit Police were called to the 20300 Block of Pierson on Detroit’s northwest side early Tuesday evening around 6:00PM after the bodies of 2 black males were discovered in the basement of a dwelling on Pierson St.

One of those victims was later identified as former Ball State football player and Buffalo Bill’s linebacker Robert Eddins , 28, of Detroit.

Police found the 2 bodies of the men with multiple gunshot wounds after the father of Robert Eddins came home and discovered his son and another man, identified as 32 year old Ricky McFarland, shot multiple times.
Detroit Fire also dispatched an engine to the scene for a gas leak inside the dwelling.
Officers on the scene requested evidence techs and homicide investigators to the scene.
Robert Eddins attended Crockett High School (now closed) on Detroit’s east side from 2003-2006 where he lettered in football and was considered the 28th best football player in the State of Michigan at the time. Mr Eddins also made the Detroit News All Stars in his senior year.
While attending Ball State University from 2006 to 2010, he managed to again letter in football where his career sack total (17) ranks sixth in school history.
After going undrafted in the 2011 NFL Draft, Eddins signed as a free agent with the Buffalo Bills. He was placed on the injured reserve list on September 14, and waived with an injury settlement on September 20.
He was signed by the Bills to their practice squad on November 30.
On January 6, 2012, Eddins was signed to the Buffalo Bills. While making a rise up the depth chart in that summers training camp on August 21 in the Rochester, New York, Eddins was quoted as saying “Being inconsistent makes you non-existent”.
Mr Eddins played 1 game with the Buffalo Bills.
He was the son of Robert & Bridgett Eddins III.
