BREAKING – Detroit – December 8 2018 3:40PM: Detroit Police officers from the 9th Precinct are on scene @ Flanders & Newport where an 11 year old male has been shot. 9th Precinct units notified dispatch that the child has suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.
Detroit Fire’s Engine 50 and Detroit EMS have also arrived on the scene.

10:58PM: DPD now saying the child was 7 years of age. Child was inside the residence when shots rang out outside. DPD is calling it a drive-by. 1 round struck the child in the leg. The child was conveyed to the hospital by Detroit EMS where he is listed in temporary serious condition. No information is available on the shooter or the shooter’s vehicle.

6:18PM – Detroit Police are saying this is a drive-by shooting, best go with that. Kids condition is unknown.

5:16PM – Some conflicting reports from this incident. Detroit Police say this was a drive-by shooting, information from the community says the child had the gun in his pocket and it went off, striking him in the leg. I haven’t heard any information on a shooter.
